This forum has changed a bit from the 606 days but those of us from back in the day will love that the mech is back funniest man in cyber space after oldest he was and i hope will be what kept this forum human stay frosty friends
Word of warning to anyone who's been sent the Timeform Cheltenham mailshot. I got mine this morning, and it's fine except that it's last year's edition (several clues, one of which is that they've shown the opening Tuesday as March 12th). I'm assuming the 2014 version will have different prices but, on the positive side, they do flag up Simonsig very strongly for the Arkle. Mech: nice to hear from you.
Why is Zarkandar running over 2 miles again? He's going for the World Hurdle. Why hasn't he run over an extended trip?
That's precisely my thoughts on the Bet of the Weekend thread, Bob. You can surmise that PN wants to get him another run, but surely a 2.5m or 3m race could have been found?
Un Temps Pour Tout was excellent there. Suddenly the Neptune is not the boil over for Faugheen that I thought it was. This one and The Tullow Tank both likely runners and we're looking at a competitive race out of nowhere.
Almost 100% accurate Joe. It wasn't tricky, it wasn't interesting, CH did bowl along in front, they didn't get near him (well briefly), Irish Cavalier was found out. I assume they must be disappointed with that. Or the winner is something special.
Talking about following a horse over a cliff, the red hot fav is called Followmeuptocarlow. I found that mildly amusing.
Dont know about them but I certainly was, the one worry I had going in was his tendency to jump left and the jockey took him away over to the other side of the track, whether that was a decision based on the ground or his jumping I dont know. He must have given away plenty of ground but obviously it wouldnt have mattered, the winner looked a different horse today and the big hitters were on it seems with all the owners at the track for it today. Chasing will be his game but if the handicapper doesnt go crazy he might have a decent handicap in the meantime.
Talk about putting the handbrake on Turban until the last day. Loads of average €10k races and he runs in and out. €60k race and he blitzes the field. 11lb shouldn't stop him especially with the 2 others with chances have big absences to overcome. Interesting race. Certainly will be if Bog Warrior runs well.
The one I gave the worst chance to stays on best to win. Bog Warrior and Aupcharlie both fall looking a bit tired. Turban didn't stay well enough.
Leavethelighton finally gets it done, and at a decent price too considering he only really had one to beat.
