One of my neighbours is taking his 18 year old son to old trafford to see man u for the first time next season as a late birthday present, after 18 years he is finally going to experience a game! It is incredible to think he lives within walking distance of the Den and has never been to a game,his only football education has come from sky sports and all the ex pros and journos making the usual comments about players being tired and trying to take all physical contact out of the game. On the contrary to all this my 18 year old son has seen Millwall have promotions, relegations,been to the old Wembley,new Wembley,the Millenium for an FAcup final and play in Europe, have I missed anything? The point of all this is that so many kids will never really know what it's like to be a fan even though they live within our catchment area and that's our loss as well as theirs.

We're fans because our family were Wall. If you had to choose at 7 years old (or whatever) you wouldn't have chosen Millwall you would have chosen the team that was the most popular at that time or whoever your mates supported. Now we have THE BOX that tells you who to support.
Erm you say that, when I was 5 I knew **** all about football and my parents were liverpool and spurs fans. At school my mates were talking about who they supported and most were wall surprisingly so I said ok I will support them then I think they came from wall families so in a way you are right but it certainly wasn't any influence from my own family

my son(who's now 10) wanted to support the prawn sandwich brigade from manchester but i told him that he'll never see them live only on tv - so when we went to wembly to play scunthorpe that was it ....HOOKED BIG TIME especially after gary alexanders wonder goal..... Now every team except millwall is pony to him
actually my dad was doing some work at the valley years ago, before they got turfed out, and i had to go with him because it was half term or something, anyway i slipped off and was having a little kick about on the pitch when this trampy looking bloke started shouting at me to get off the pitch, so i kicked the ball at him as hard as i could and it slapped him rite between the eyes. He spent the next few minutes chasing me until my dad caught hold of me and gave me a proper ****in bollocking. i have ****ing hated charlton and anything to do with it from that day on!
Ok I'm going to be honested now lads. I was born in Southwark and we moved within a year down to Medway (Chatham) area becasue housing was cheaper. Well all through Primary school my mates supported Arsenal and mainly Manchester United. So I followed them and began to like United. Then when I was 10 my dad decided it'll be good after years of poor finances to get a Season ticket back at Wall when the season re-started, if I remember correctly it was late on in the season and we went to The Millwall vs Palace match in 2002 and just walking into the car park my face must have lit up seeing the Stadium, we entered and I walked up the concrete steps of which my first sight was the amazing pitch. The atmosphere at this game was extraordinary, adrenaline was pumping and Cahill scored a bullet header. On the walk to the station we witnessed two Palace fans slapping each other (wouldn't call that a punch) . The whole day was amazing and it was great to experience my pretty much Hometown clubs atmosphere and passion. My Dad said I had more of a right to support Wall then him and at that moment it was just a change of heart. I may like United for there fancy players and european competitions but Walls atmosphere and the day in general felt like a home coming. Since then I have never thought of Millwall being anything but MY club COYL!!! If all over kids in this area (Medway) or South East London experienced the passion and enthusiasm of the Lions and our supporters then they would be star struck and stick with the Lions for ever!

Tbh in Gillingham area, I swear I see more Wall fans the Gills fans Who knew people from Gillingham know better quality when they see it
