Utd's problems were evident before today. The game v Fulham doesn't provide any further ammunition against Moyes. He picked the best team available, they dominated the game (75% possession, 30+ attempts at goal, 80+ crosses (a record)) but they lacked composure in front of goal and made two more defensive lapses at the other end. Those failings are down to the players - I'm sure Moyes knows he needs to to overhaul his defence and find a top class midfielder to play in front of them. He can't be criticised for the result. Chelsea failed to beat West Ham two weeks ago in similar circumstances, but nobody blames Mourinho's tactics, selection or motivational skills. Moyes inherited a team which needs rebuilding - he should be judged when he's rebuilt it, assumimg he's given funds. It's the Glazers who are really on trial- will they stump up the £100M needed to buy the quality players who could fix Utd's problems? Utd have the cash so will it be spent?

Whether they have the money to buy a top class Left back, 2 top class centre halves, a box to box midfielder, a defensive midfielder and a striker for cover at best, but more likely to replace RVP, (with a much diminished resale value) is open to question Luke, Especially when you consider they will have to be paid a premium for mising out on CL football. This is going to be a hard road back with no quick answers. To be honest, I think that that commercial realities will overwhelm the "we are different" attitude of United and he will be gone before the (next) January window.

I don't think £100 M will be enough luke, £100 M is about 2 top players nowadays. Levy tried to get 'value' with £100 M and look what happened. RM, Barca, PSG, Monaco, Citeh and Chavski have moved the goal posts. £200 M min will be required to rebuild United.

Not if you are a Mouser!

Moyes has told interviewers that it doesn't get worse than conceding a last minute goal to Fulham.

Hm.

I reckon getting humiliated in the CL, finishing midtable, and then suffering the ignominy of being sacked as the worst manager in United's history is probably going to top it by some distance.
<ok>

Worse than failing to beat Sunderland over two legs and losing the subsequent penalty shoot-out?

He'd need to get them relegated to be the worst manager in their history.

Five seasons is a reasonable time to judge a manager on results. Anything less proves nothing.

"I've never headed that many balls since (playing in) the Conference," Fulham defender Dan Burn after their 2-2 draw at Old Trafford. <laugh>

Yesterday was a perfect example of why crossing the ball is a bad tactic against a team less skilful than yourself. It just leaves everything to chance. Passing the ball is a massively better tactic

You can pass a cross though. Its the hopeful ones, like the worldy that Soldado provided for Ade in <insert game here> that have an element of luck.
Getting to the goal line and pulling the ball back for a teammate is better than attempting tricky through balls, imo
