Are they?, how does anyone know that yet? TS hasn't had everyone fit yet, he's already surprised us not using a couple who some think should be 'usual first teamers'.
I thought even our better players were dismal, the first half hour was torturous to watch, when not chasing shadows, we knocked it about nowhere, got chased down and eventually lost possession, luck and decisions played no part in a third of the game. I saw nothing to suggest an against the run of play equaliser would turn the game, we were impotent in open play. City weren't just suddenly going to play ****e, the goal would more llikely piss them off and they'd step up a gear! Perhaps I'm just sick of the deja-vous, its not just this game or season, it keeps happening, I can't think of another side that concedes 5 so regular to top sides, if its not City its the Goons, if its not them its Chelsea.
I think our team reminds me of that movie.Remember it?The Good,The Bad and The Ugly.....really ugly too!!!!
Man City is much better. Having said that, we've made a habit of getting off to woefully slow starts: Arsenal, Swansea and Man City. We got away with it against Swansea. It cost us the game against Arsenal and Man City. However good or bad we are, I can't understand why we start a game strolling around. Man City should have put us away early. And yet: the last 20 minutes of the first half we had the better of it. We looked like we belonged on the same field, and in fact could have sneaked a result if things continued to go well. So I don't really know how good we are. At least we get good chances, nowadays. It will be a big test to see if we can rebound from a dispiriting loss. As for fourth...I agree it looks a lot more dubious than it did a week ago. It was reasonable to hope we could keep getting wins, and Liverpool would cool off. Now that we've got Man U with Mata to worry about as well, it's hard to feel too optimistic. It may take 74-76 points to get fourth this year, and, if so, I can't see us getting them.
The only thing I really have a strong view about is that your most skilful player should be in the middle of the pitch, not at the edge. ideally between the centre circle and the penalty spot where every pass can hurt. That's where Erikson or Lamela should play.
