The team didn't play without passion the last few months , they played without players , with others filling in valiantly against the toughest of teams . And nothing is obvious cartoon until it is fact. Fact is this is Laudrups team and season , we will see how Monk can care take as tons of talent come back and becomes available , and how much of this talent is available in the summer. I hope it most , I suspect it's not. And Huw , who normally does things for the club , took things personally long before wr got near the bottom from playing tough teams and playing amongst a catastrophic injury scenario

'The team didn't play without passion the last few months!!!' Did you watch the West Ham game??? I was there and it was embarrassing - we played the last 30 minutes against ten men and didn't have a single shot on, or off, target! And all Laudrup could say was that it was 'frustrating'!

I will always be grateful to Laudrup for getting our first major trophy, but his record since has been relegation form! I agree that we have suffered with injuries this season, but our performances have been pedestrian - today I saw players busting a gut to close down and chase the ball, quick short passing that had been our trademark but something that had been lost under Laudrup recently - I also witnessed a team of players that looked confident and happy - something I haven't seen for some time - and I have attended all home, and most away games this season!

Yep - we all know there was a major personality clash between Huw and Laudrup, but recent performances were not good - injuries were not an excuse, we still had a team that were woefully underperforming! The FACT is that Garry Monk is now our manager so, whatever our feelings are about Laudrup, we must get behind him and the squad! After almost a year of inept performances I left the Liberty today full of confidence and euphoric - we were totally dominant and the Swansea I love were back! It wasn't Brendan's team, or Laudrup's team, today it was Garry Monk's team - regardless of who signed the players, the performance they put in today was for Garry Monk!

Got noproblem with Gary managing past the fact Laudrup should have never been let go . Ihave said I expect big things after the West Ham game , I'm excited about Laudrups team going forward in all three compititions , which we have won4 of the last 7. West Ham are much better that most think and they proved that again today and will in games to come imo . I don't need any advise cartoon , save it for elsewhere . I know Monks are manager now , never said a bad word about him , not all can say that ---Phil , but he's taking Laudrups team forward , why , cause Huw knew anyone could at this point . We will see how Huw treats Monk from here

Good point Breezy about West Ham.
Villa did worse today at home arguably.
Doubt they'll panic and sack Lambert though....and they are a much bigger club than us.

We've been spoilt with good football so find it very hard to accept the West Ham performance, but the Hammers have killed many a game this season and defend for their lives.

Some people don't seem to take into account that some of our players coming back from injury played better tonight thanks to the minutes they received against the Hammers and Fulham...some (Leon) played better thanks to the rest Laudrup afforded them...all had their game lifted by a loud supportive home crowd in the derby match.

This was exactly what I was expecting to happen under Laudrup...was just hoping for a point or a lucky winner from the Hammers is all.
I predicted 11 or so points from the 6 games (Fulham - Palace) and nothing has altered my view.
I also expect us to finish mid table and wouldn't rule out reaching a cup final...with a bit of luck.

Whether sacking Laudrup was the right decision or not will be decided by (IMO);
a) do we get relegated as a result of unsettled players
and, as you pointed out on another thread...
b) what happens in the summer.

I liked your post but accidently hit the wrong one . I'm not pressing those like buttons any more doh

Great post Cartoon and on the money, exactly how I felt after todays game......................... <applause><applause>

Laudrup's team of the last few months under Laudrup played without passion - Laudrup's team today, under Monk, played with absolute passion. You only had to look at Ash's reaction to the first goal, sprinting towards Monk and giving him a huge bearhug!

Today's performance was a million miles away from the recent performances Laudrup got out of the team! I have the utmost respect for Laudrup and what he achieved with us, but also believe that we would have been relegated if he was still in charge. So many rumours and, as they say - no smoke without fire!

The players were obviously dissatisfied with the training; Laudrup leaving it to Monk and Curt after ten minutes - then giving the players two days off, and going on a two day jolly to Paris after the West Ham debacle! This is what forced the boards hand!

I was absolutely pro Laudrup but found his recent behaviour egregious in the extreme! In my opinion his position was untenable - he had lost the changing room - his inability to sort out the Monk/Chico spat is testament to that.

I will always respect ML for what he achieved with us, but also believe that Huw and co made the right decision with the best interests of the club in mind. If players leave then so be it - we will get other players.

Once again Cartoon I find myself agreeing with your take on this weeks events, spot on mate and well said!............... <applause><applause>

<laugh>...Breezblock are you trying to get yourself banned again? Don't be silly now there's a good boy!............<ok>

If Bony comes out and says something in the press committing to swansea and talking positively , I'll believe him. If he says nothing, I know he said something to someone about a departure . Same with Shelvey , if says something positive in the press after tweetgate, I'll believe him . If he says nothing and just carries on without reference , he's fuming andready to pass in his transfer in the summer . These and others came to Swansea to play for " Michael " , how do you think some of them feel about the manner in which he was " Bushwacked " by Jenkins .I guess will find out how they feel soon enough in a few months . But this is a good professional team Laudrup put together and theywill be professional and do very well , but some will be more personal in there action at seasons end I fear .

Looks like Tottenham and Real Madrid are rattling there sabers early over Laudrup , speaks volumes.

Excellent to see Bony's goal celebration - pointing at the ground and shouting "here". Clear message - going nowhere.

Breezey if Bony goes and assuming he continues his scoring run it will cost upwards of 25-30million for him, so we would be in a win win situation. However watch the game, watch the spirit, passion and unity in the team, management and bench. I don't see him (or any other player except those on loan) going anywhere unless a bid of near 30million comes in, a sum we wouldn't be able to turn down.

Good post. All we need now is Michu coming back with the same fire in his belly too!!

Seabreeze, how on earth does your line of reasoning work? Literally one article from an awful non-news website with no evidence and now you believe he wants to go, and won't be convinced otherwise unless he says he's staying publicly out of the blue?

MATE, THINK THROUGH WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. IT FUNDAMENTALLY DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.

Lots of wishful thinking like usual . Firstly I've said I hope no players go anywhere and If Bony does we will get a bundle for Laudrup's fantastic signing . Bony can point , make signals or send heap big smoke signals but he needs to get in front of the media and refute the claims that he said he wants to leave in the summer , same with Shelvey . Failure to do so will say lots . You want to see clowns and a circus , I suggest the boardroom . Laudrups team was superb yesterday, like I said they would be .
