On a day when a expense-thieving MP serving a six month sentence gets let out after six weeks, you can see why some people start taking the law into their own hands. It's not right, but for stealing a phone, a thief would get let off with a caution (probably to add to all his other cautions) Our criminal justice system stinks
Flyer, reminds me of the story of a man who saw someone in his shed and called the police, only to be told they were too busy and they would come in the morning. He called again and said don't worry "I've just shot him".Within minutes four vans with armed police turned up. They arrested the man in the shed but said to the caller"you said you had shot him" Yea and you said you were too busy".
When I worked in Saudi Arabia in the mid 70's cutting a hand off was a possible punishment for theft (hopefully not for a first offence) - as a consequence it meant that offenders had to wipe themselves with the same hand as they ate with, which I guess is taboo - never really thought of that before.
thats brilliant, except no doubt they couldn't tame being fooled and probably done him for wasting police time. if Simpson hit they guy, I expect him to do time but we all know rich people don't have the same laws as us.
