One player seems keen to join us..... http://www.thisishullandeastriding....-join-Tigers/story-12779504-detail/story.html
Had a text this morning from a leeds mate and he does not rate him.His text read guess he is ok for your lot he wont set the place on fire typical lower league player .
Hoping that's just the voice of disappointment speaking, he's looked decent when i've seen him play. At 25 he's a decent age and should be a good addition.
He's a typical lower league player who's a full Australian international, played 37 games for TWS last season and was offer a new contract. He might not be the most exciting player in the world, but I reckon your mate's talking him down a bit, probably due to him rejecting his new deal.
Is he another centre midfield player? If so do we really need another one assuming Mckenna is a done deal?
I'm not sure on this one. He's a fine player, that's not an issue. It just leaves use very heavy on central midfield players. We've already got Harper, Evans, Cairney and Koren. Plus Bullard, Kilbane and Olofinjana who we don't want. Plus possibly McKenna and Kilkenny. PLUS Neil Danns or someone of his ilk. Even if we get shut of the overpaid wasters, that's too many CM's.
AP hinted recently that our interest in Kilkenny was being driven by his agent, I wouldn't be surprised if we haven't made an offer at all.
Has some skill but verylightweight he his pushed off the ball very easy. Also most of his bookings have come with mouthing off.But he can pass a ball at times tries to hard for the perfect pass instead of the simple one.But is a good squad player.
We should be preparing to play Oli. He's head and shoulders - both literally and metaphorically - above any other centre midfielder we have at the club or are likely to be able to sign.
Ok ive seen this guy play for 3 seasons and ill break it down to you of the type of player he is: Great at short passing, always looks around for the next pass, seems to be 2 steps ahead at times. Barely plays 30 yard balls, just plays the safe game. Moans like sin, he cant tackle, he cant shoot, has no pace and would be absolutely useless as a DM. if hes protected he can do the odd bit of magic. But as most people who have watched him play, hes an intelligent footballer, but his game is literally yards of passing. Hes not a full international yet, only just makes the bench and gets the odd 10 mins here an there!
I'd be questioning why your manager played such a crap player 37 times last season and why he offered him a new contract. Grayson out.
Exactly what all the leeds fans have been saying. Not good enough for us! and personally not good enough for you's neither. We offered him and johnson really shoddy deals. he wanted to stay big style, but bates and grayson felt we could bring in better, and i believe he can. finishing 7th was a great achievement for us in the 1st season back, but if we wanna make the playoffs we need to get a better midfield. Central anyways. PS im stilled miffed at johnsons move to norwich. plays well for 6 months and gets a prem move
My mate who is a Leeds fan said that he was one of there better players of the season. And, playing that number of games shows solidity in the midfield which we never had all last season. If you look at the teams at the top they had a team that was the same week in/week out. So im sure he would fit the bill. UTT
Kilkenny was great in League One and he still makes some good forward passes and slows the tempo down when you need in the Championship but lightweight is exactly the word. Him and Johnson were totally incapable of protecting our defense for all of last season. People throw these figures at you like 'well if they played 40 games they can't be that ****e,' but if we'd played pretty much any other Championship CM combo there, I'm positive we'd have got into the playoffs. The amount of times Kilkenny and Johnson lost the ball in centre midfield to effectively set the opposition up for an attack was shocking. I find it unlikely Hull will rate him, just his agent mouthing off in the press so far. I could see Kilkenny somewhere like Bristol City next season, he's a limited player with a weak attitude.
Seen as the McKenna deal seems done and dusted, I doubt we'll be trying to sign Kilkenny. If we get both it would mean we have 4 players who are very much the same - that seems daft to me
Already have one Killer so don't need this one. According to Radio Humberside the word form Huddersfield is that they will not go for Kilbane.
