With the big game tomorrow, thought I'd post a pre-match thread with some historic facts and match previews etc

According To The Beeb:
Swansea could be without Jonjo Shelvey, who hurt his hamstring at West Ham, but fellow midfielder Jose Canas may return from an ankle problem.

New Swans boss Garry Monk must decide whether to include Michel Vorm and Michu, both of whom have returned to training after lengthy lay-offs.

Cardiff may hand a first start to Manchester United loanee Wilfried Zaha.

New signing Juan Cala could make his debut in central defence as Mark Hudson is nursing a hamstring injury.

Head-to-head

•This will be the first time Swansea have hosted Cardiff in the top flight.
•Victory would give Cardiff three successive league wins against Swansea for the first time in their history. It would also be the first time either side has won both league meetings during a single season.

•The Swans failed to register a single shot on target against West Ham last weekend - the first time they have done so in the Premier League since a 2-0 defeat by Arsenal on 16 March 2013.

•Victory against the Canaries ended the Bluebirds' seven-game winless run in the league (D1, L6).

Head To Head: At Swansea
In the 31 games played at Swansea's Vetch / Liberty, the home team have taken three points on 17 occasion's with the Bluebirds taking them on 6 with the other 8 being draw's.

The highest scoring game in Swansea came in the 1949/1950 season with the Jacks winning 5-1

People are branding this the most important South Wales Derby ever! With just 3 points seperating the team's, it is all to play for!

Either way, I think this will be a tough match that both teams are desperate to win!
 
I hope its a good clean fair game with plenty of excitement to cheer about. Im expecting a typical derby close game with the swans having the majority of possession and cardiff defending well. But i still see us taking the 3 points for monks first game as boss. If we had a stranger as boss then i would not be confident at all but as its monk and he knows swansea from top to bottom and how we should play then we should win this...

john there is no need for any abuse. I have stated my own thoughts on the game as i see it. there is no abuse or no disrespect whatsoever towards cardiff. this is a match day thread after all.....your mods should have a word in your shell and delete your abuse before it goes from a match day thread to nothing more that a slandering match and im sure the person who started this thread never intended it for that...grow up john...
 
Shall be going to visit some misguided relatives shortly who unfortunately support the jacks. But i'll be there shouting and cheering on the Bluebirds who will easily beat the jacks today!
 
Hammers wining away, Sunderland losing at home, Palace beating WBA it's still all to play for.

I can see a small group coming adrift after Feb and that may be Fulham, Sunderland, WBA and Norwich even though they are holding Man City at the moment.

The question is will either of us be with them - only time will tell!
