Well I did have a listen. An interesting anthology I'll give you that. I liked Hookworms, Drenge and Kurt Vile. Perhaps the common ingredient for me was a touch of psych in there but I liked those offerings. I didn't enjoy as much Metz, Pissed Jeans, Uncle Tupalo, Lucero and Houndstooth. Different sounds but the common factor was that I was left feeling that I'd heard it before - only better. Perhaps it was the tracks you selected but I wouldn't go searching to hear more whilst I might for the first lot. Mark Kozelek. I'll have to listen to that a few more times. Sung rap is an interesting concept.

Yes, there's a nice bass line running through all the tracks and a certain something about them all, I thought you might like Hookworms but have been wrong in the past. I'll post some other Kozelek stuff he was in a band Called Red House Pinters who are very good and some of his solo stuff is also good but also poor at times.
