I realise that WOL is a bit of a laughing stock here but they've gone for this as well. "say reports" means 'take with a pinch of salt' for me but it looks as though something's happening.

It's all very embarrassing in my view. As the Guardian says.

What's to be embarrassed about?
The club have made a comment distancing themselves from O'Neill claims early on and confirmed yesterday that Watford had been approached - other than that nothing has come from them on any named candidate.

To me its just a case of Shearer trying to spin the fact that we probably said no to him but sought to honour his approach with an interview of some sort...end of!

I just would like that after this is all settled and the new man is in place, the club come out and clarify this, which would at the very least show full backing for MM/whoever takes on the job and also put AS back in his place...which unfortunately for viewers of MOTD, will likely remain on the couch dribbling out a load of crap as usual!<doh>

Fair comment although this Shearer approach smacked of madness to most - embarrassing enough in my view. Non the less, who said 'no' is a bit of a moot point. I reckon he won't work with Bellamy for whom I reckon we're willing to fork out a bit of cash. Guess work of course.

My take on this is that Shearer approched Cardiff, they said Thanks but No Thanks and he made a statement (Here I am boys looking for a managers job come and get me).

End of

Whoever it is, it needs to be now.

Roumers are that Ardley will takeover at Watford. Shame that. Hopefully the compo for Ardley will offset the compo for MM.:emoticon-0101-sadsm

Neil Ardley runs the very successful Youth academy at CCFC, Good guy and highly thought of at the club. I was half expecting Ardley to be considered for the managers job here.

I'd be sad if we lost Ardley as he is highly thought of here. Would make a great replacement by Watford I imagine.

Rumours were though that MM and NA were going to be the main management team...

Sounds like Ardley would be a Watford-type replacement, although we never know with our new owner!! Wouldn't say he is a Watford 'legend' but he had a good few years with us!

With Jones going, what happened to Terry Burton? He left us for you guys and always thought he was a very good No. 2 to Lewington when he was with us!

I'd like Ardley to stay. Not sure about Burton, though it's been said his views were different from DJs in a number of areas and were causing friction. He may have a new lease of life under a new manager though managers often want their own backroom staff.

"that talks are underway with Malky Mackay to become our new manager."

I think even the wording suggests as far as Cardiff are concerned it's a done deal. Not much room for doubt there. Not "possibility of". :)

Only dot the I's and cross the T's

And sent the cheque to Watford, then deal done.

I'm beginning to sound like a forest fan
