I realise that WOL is a bit of a laughing stock here but they've gone for this as well. "say reports" means 'take with a pinch of salt' for me but it looks as though something's happening.
It's all very embarrassing in my view. As the Guardian says.

The club have made a comment distancing themselves from O'Neill claims early on and confirmed yesterday that Watford had been approached - other than that nothing has come from them on any named candidate.
To me its just a case of Shearer trying to spin the fact that we probably said no to him but sought to honour his approach with an interview of some sort...end of!
I just would like that after this is all settled and the new man is in place, the club come out and clarify this, which would at the very least show full backing for MM/whoever takes on the job and also put AS back in his place...which unfortunately for viewers of MOTD, will likely remain on the couch dribbling out a load of crap as usual!
