No animosity at all ... I love Jock, we both follow The Jags (why I don't know) ... its just that when you disagree with something or don't want a certain person to run the club, don't just blindly point a finger and be dismissive ... let me put it this way, if Cellino was THE ONLY person who ever bid for Leeds, and Haigh was not involved, I think it would be hard to find anyone who would actually support this man ... I worry that intelligent people like Jock, Doc, Eire, Elland etc, all seem to be blindly accepting Cellino as the messiah when these are the VERY Leeds fans I would trust to question Cellino, try and understand if he's right for our club, make sure we don't just give in to a maniac ... the VERY Leeds fans I would have expected to at least stick it to Cellino for his disgraceful behaviour last week, behaviour that was even lower than that of one Kenny Bates ... I am just disappointed that mukkas I count on seem to have lost focus, that's all ... MOT
I dont think anyone of those posters are blindly accepting Cellino as the messiah tho, I think most have said that they have reservations about his being in control, giving his past history, however the one thing we do know, is that he has been in control of a football club for many number of years, and has been fairly successful. Now we have various opinions about how he gets on with the Cagliari fans and the reasons for the club having to move grounds, the issue there is which do you believe. At the weekend I was firmly of the belief that I didnt want this guy at my club, and I would prefer to have one of the other consortiums, however unfortunately I am losing faith with both of those.
Do i want this guy in charge of my club, not really no, the actions over the last weekend suggests that we would have a very volatile time with him in charge. However unfortunately my ideal investor isn't exactly lining up to take over the club, so where does that leave us.
We have
1)a very volatile character, with a vast experience of running a football club, who has the financial wealth to support his goals
2) our present owners, who have 12 months experience of running a football club, and given the situation that numerous individuals/corporations have lent money to the club, it would suggest that they have not got the behind the scenes finances running correctly, and are not in a position to cover such a short fall themselves until whatever initiatives they may wish to set up/or have set up begin to reap a reward. Thus how much more borrowing will be required, and henceforth will those new initiatives actually make a difference, due to the large amount of borrowing the meantime
3) our leading sponsor, together with our present managing director, who despite for the past 2/3 months releasing teaser messages about what they will do once they are in charge, pull out at the 11th hour for one of 2 reasons depending on which version you believe. Both have shown a commitment to the club, but have limited experience of running a football club, and have/had obtained their purchase price by taking numerous investors on board. Given Mr Flowers reaction to the weekend events, what would happen between those said investors in say 12 months time, when they fail to agree on the direction they wish to develop the club, does Mr Flowers throw his dummy out of the pram, and do we continue to get social media messages, telling us of the exciting times ahead, from our MD, prior to some event that throws us into this turmoil again.
4) the other consortium, I have to admit I don't know much about, but so many names have been mentioned as being part of the investment team, that I would be hesitant to feel comfortable that they have the financial means to actually take the club forward, and feel that with either of the 2 consortiums we would soon be in a similar situation again as we find ourselves in now.
Those at present are our 4 realistic options, and whilst at one stage I would have been more than fully supportive of option 2, I think events over the past few weeks has made me question whether the club would progress, especially given that we already seem to have tried the consortium route and whilst I wont say at present that its been an unmitigated disaster, it would appear the situation is a lot worse than any of us imagined.
So 3 of our options include consortiums which many posters on here are wary of, given our previous experience of the same. That unfortunately leaves us only with one other viable option. Yes he appears to be very volatile and a control freak, on the plus side he has experience and yes I will accept the fact that he has wealth behind him, does that cloud my judgement, not one bit.
Do I want him near my club, no I don't, give me another viable option to the above 4 and I will happily cling to it like a newborn child to their mother's breasts, if it keeps Cellino away from the club.
However until that fifth option becomes a reality, then I fear for OUR club. I don't want any of my 4 options involved in the club, but given the choice (not that it is our choice as such), I would prefer the guy who has over 20 years experience of running a football club to be in control, than a bunch of businessmen with little or no experience
