Watching Chelsea last night showed just how big a mistake united made.

Moyes has shown hes nothing more than a high mid table manager with very poor tactical awareness.

Hes lost the dressing room, hes almost lost every fan, those few who claimed (lied) to still support him are very quickly losing their faith.

Its a matter of time, lose to Fulham and hes gone, drawband he should be sacked, win while playing awful without even a glimpse of a change in system and he should be gone.

In fact, unless he sends a team out that destroys Fulham, he should be sacked.

Pointless waiting til the end of the season, the damage could be irreversible by then. Get him sacked now, get someone tactically aware in for the rest of the season. Hiddink is the obvious choice here.
 
Was how Mourinho played last night really that tactically astute? All he did was play his normal way, that he's been playing all season, with Ramires moving up into an AM position, as he provides more energy to press City, than Oscar does.

For me it wasn't Mourinho's masterful tactics, it was more Pelligrini's naivety tactically that cost Man City. Playing a 442 with 2 big target men who aren't gonna drop into midfield was plain stupidity on Pelligrini's part, and it was even more stupid to stick with those tactics once his best defensive midfielder Fernandinho was ruled out.

442 is a good formation to use when your playing against the weaker teams, as those teams have inferior players in midfield that aren't good enough to take advantage of the extra man, and with an extra man up front your obviously more of a threat.

But against a top team like a Chelsea or a Bayern, you either need to play a 451 or a 442 with a Rooney type striker dropping back into midfield to help out. As the top teams midfields are so strong that they will dominate if they have an extra man in there, meaning that your 2 target men up front are pretty much useless, as there gonna get no service.

So for me it was more down to Pelligrini being clueless, rather than Mourinho pulling off a masterstroke :biggrin:
 
It was all down to mourinho.

He could take most teams in the league to city and pick up the points.

He used the same tactics against Arsenal and couldn't get the points, as they couldn't dominate Arsenals midfield like they did City's, as Arsenal also play with 5 in midfield.

The media like to brainwash us into thinking it was all down to Mourinho's magic, but he just played how he normally plays in the big games. There was no big change to his tactics:biggrin:

It wasn't even the tactics, it was how he managed his team, how he made them believe they would win.

They have done a good job then.
They even brainwashed me into thinking he had won the league in Portugal, Spain, England and Italy, and 2 Champions League trophies and innumerable cup competitions.
That pesky media!! <grr>

I am not doubting Mourinho's ability as a manager, he is the 2nd best manager in the world currently. I'm just saying that the media aren't getting on Pelligrini's back for his clueless 442 tactics, they are making out like it was all down to Mourinho. When for me Pelligrini made it so easy for Chelsea and Mourinho to turn them over, with the way they lined up:biggrin:

Whos the best? He was the second best, hes now the best. Theres nobody else even worth a mention.

Pep Guardiola is the best currently IMO. Though if Diego Simeone can pull off winning La Liga with Atletico, who are 3 points clear now, then he would have to come into consideration, as that would be a remarkable achievement to out do Real and Barca with there resources over a full league campaign :biggrin:

this is ridiculous. You've lost faith in Moyes because he is not fergie and he is not battering mid to low teams home and away.

For people who have seen the transition from an iconic manager in the past this is not totally shocking and unexpected. Unwelcome yes but FFS what do you expect when the squad is limited, and its two best players have been out for a few weeks. Only Fergie could have got this pile of **** of a squad performing. We clearly needed one or two DM for a few years now.

It is a rebuilding period. Everyone knew it would be tough except for those who thought things will be the same as with SAF.

Changing the manager will not improve matters. £300m and 5 world class first teamers and more squad players are needed. I am not f**king joking... <ok>

PS: And yes Maureen played a blinder yesterday. But he was hugely helped by 1) Pellegrini falling into his trap of believing he will sit back and soak the pressure like at OT, by playing a ridiculous 442 against a team like Chelsea. Did he believe he was playing spurs again ..and 2) Pellegrini had Aguero and Nasri missing. And 3) he had the right player to put Toure out of the game. Toure was shackled and City felt the loss of Fernandhino and his replacement was ****. So it was like a pack of hyenas surrounding Toure...
 
I don't lie when I support Moyes, any supporter worthy of the name would support a new manager coming in.

There's no such thing as irreversible damage. Utterly ridiculous suggestion. <ok>

please!!! You could have put Matth in charge of that Barca team and they would have won just as much.
No management was required.
They had one tactic, which was that they were better than every other team around by a country mile so just owned them.

You really have no idea do you? Why do you think they have been well and truly knocked off there European perch since Guardiola has left, getting thumped 7-0 on aggregate by Bayern. The players he had were very good, but they weren't invincible, he was just so good that he made them look like they where. Look at how Bayern got about them last season when Guardiola wasn't there:biggrin:
 
Irreversible was the wrong word to use but its potentially going to be very difficult to break back into the top 4 if we continue on this downward spiral. Its been done in the past briefly but there 7 sides capable of competing with us for those 4 spots. I simply dont have faith in moyes' ability to acheive that.

Winning trophies is just a bonus as a supporter but I see no reason why we have to accept whats going on at the club. Moyes may well turn it around but I see nothing to suggest that. I hope I am wrong and in a few years you lot can laugh at me.

That for me tops anything pep achieved with Barcelona.

Gonna cost Utd around £20m to buy Moyes's 5 year contract, add to that any compo to his successors club and his successors wages, if he does get the elbow will Fergie have to pay for tickets from then on?

That clueless 442 tactic has banged every other premier league team this season at the Eitihad, including yours. If it's so easy to counter then why is no one else capable?
