Very similar to Cardiff last season at about this time of year. A more than ample cushion, playing well and grinding out results when things are not going so well - if the Foxes don't go up - I will eat my hat (in the immortal words of Stan Laurel)
In total honesty, knowing the history we have with this league and they way we always f-k something up I honestly & truely wouldnt I wasnt even one of those who gave it "Larry Large" when we did get promoted last time.....these things always have a way of biting you in the arse, as we found with our 2 embarrasing seasons in the prem.! But its up to you guys..lots of our lot found out the hard way and ate a lot of humble pie for a long time
Should we beat Watford at the weekend we'd have one more point than the season total of the team that finished in the last play-off spot last season (which was us ) ... not therefore difficult to see why some of ours are getting bullish ... now without any arrogance I can say that it is undoubtedly ours to throw away - partly from our own performances but also because the chasers will undoubtedly drop a few 'shock' points as well as (and more importantly) taking points off each other ... every win for us now is a bonus in amassing an excellent points total for the season irrespective ... at the start of the season there were big question marks as to whether we would even be up there after last season's collapse ... could have gone two ways ... thankfully it has (already) surpassed all but the most optimistic of expectation...
As I've said before Queenie, if you can't sing when you're winning, when can you sing? It's only a bit of a laugh on our board, I think you'd be hard pushed to find any on this board who actually already think we are promoted. You need to lighten up, and not take things so seriously
Too right! Even the most optimistic fan wouldn't have put us 10 points clear of the playoffs at this stage of the season! Goes to show that a manager given time and funds can really put a strong squad together, Pearson could have made wholesale changes in the summer, but backed the same set of lads to improve this season and credit to him for believing in them. I think it has helped having a seasoned professional in each area of the pitch (Wasil, Hammond and GTF, now also Phillips) to help improve the younger players, though in regards to strikers, Vardy has clearly taken to the Nugent mold.
Perhaps I wasn't being clear. We're 13 points clear in February. That's a 5 game lead with only 17 games to go. We've every right to be optimistic. Nobody is giving it "Larry Large" so I fail to see why we'd have to eat humble pie if we somehow don't go up. This exists only in your jealous mind mate.
