Mouser Watch #2

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, May 26, 2012.

  1. Great sweeping move from the Baggies, there.

People are slagging off Troure for making a stupid schoolboy error, the kind of error that when it's made by professional players calls into question whether or not they really are good enough for Sunday League, let alone Prem - but I think Troure was pressurized into making that error by good attacking play from Brom.

  2. Baggies 1 v 'Pool 1

Great result for 'Pool. I expected them to lose that game.

Where is Skylurker? He was only saying yesterday how good the results were this weekend.

A typical game of two halves, the mousers edged the first half but after the West Brom Manager switched his line-up, Roy Rogers was like a rabbit stuck in headlights, he didn't have a clue what to do. Plan A became Plan A. Suarez was booked eventually but he gave the ref little choice. He should have been in the book four or five times before. Fortunately for Suarez the ref was wearing a red shirt. Gerrard as well, his booking should have been a second.

West Brom will probably consider themselves rather unlucky coming up against 12 men.

  4. I think this result will help to put things into perspective for the Mousers, even if only momentarily.

They are not, and never have been, title-winning material, and they will, at best, struggle to hold on to 4th spot. Everton remain favourites for that spot, for me, with us close behind. 'Pool will have had a great season if they can finish 6th.

So Spurs to finish 5th for you this season, jeez HIAG there's plenty of games to go and not many points to make up.

I said a few pages back you were a defeatist and you keep on proving me right, shall we bookmark your prediction or will it change as the season progresses as per usual?

    #6385
  6. Opinions are always likely to change as a season progresses, because the picture gets clearer the closer we get to the finish.
    <doh>
I would have thought that would have been blindingly obvious.

What hasn't changed, is my view that 'Pool are not top 4 material. You're only there, at the moment, because Levy has done his absolute level best to screw us up. No way you'd be ahead of us if we hadn't lost Bale.

Spurs are only in 6th because Moyes is excrement and Everton have proved so far to be better than Spurs, but as the table shows us to be better than Man Yoo, Spurs and Everton i'll leave you to squabble with supporters of those clubs.

Of course it does. The table lies frequently.
It rarely lies much at the end of the season, though.

It would only lie in may if the team with the most points weren't top, just as the teams currently are in the correct league position based on points won, the points total is the be all and end all.

    Unless you know different PNP?

How many points was Ferguson's influence with match officials worth at the end of each season, PMK?
I'd class that as a bit of a lie, wouldn't you?

<laugh> I thought you might struggle with that one, PMK! <laugh>
Agree with HIAG or say that Ferguson was an upstanding member of the community? Hmm...

Fergie was what he was, arrogant, bullying, hypocrital, two faced.<ok>

But he was also a winner and whiner.<grr>

His big weakness was to choose Moyes as his successor.<laugh>

Or was it? Had another winner taken over from Ferguson, Mourinho for example, then the fans at Old Trafford might not be missing him so much.
If his successor had gone on to do well, maybe even winning a Champions League trophy, then would it take some of the gloss off for old Rudolph?

Someone that's not quite so friendly with him might ask the old goat to stop hanging around and casting such a large shadow at every game, too.
    Retire properly!

I agree big time, but even if the Glazrer's couldn't see the calamity in appointing Moyes the likes of Charlton could, Fergie must rule the whole of OT.<yikes>

Once again we saw the Mousers given the benefit of doubt with a tight call (as well as the blatant dives), that goal could have so easily been ruled out for offside. Along with failing to book Gerrard and Goofy earlier in the game, they were eventually deservedly booked but only after the the WBA players got at the ref, otherwise both would have escaped without punishment.
