Well if Sky Goals on Sunday think it was good enough to big it up I see no reason for the BBC pundits not to at least mention it, other than a sarky comment about a text message.

You're right, it was a sarcastic comment.

I don't expect wall-to-wall coverage of any team, but I do expect news to be highlighted when they do something particularly well, be that Norwich, Cardiff or any team in the PL, not just the selected few.

I did the predictor thing, got us finishing on 56 points in 7th.

If, say, Rooney, Welbeck, and Ashley Young had all scored for Man U yesterday, or, say, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Walcott (yes, I know) score for Arsenal this afternoon, Sky, the BBC, and all the newspapers would be full of it for a week. The fact is that 3 current England internationals, all playing for the same club, all scored in the same match, and with the England manager watching them. In a World Cup year, that is news, and should be celebrated, not dismissed with a sneer. Mark Chapman should know better.

Well it's exciting for us, and it's a fun thing to note if you're talking about that game anyway (which almost everyone has done), but it's not really a big story for anyone else. Even if all the English players from another club scored, the story would be about the match not a peculiar coincidence of who scored. Every fan who texts in complaining their team isn't getting enough attention should be dismissed with a sneer, if they are mentioned at all (which you could reasonably argue they shouldn't be).

Superbly put, Chilco. That wasn't precisely my particular point either, but aside from that, what you say is absolutely true.

Well first of all Goals on Sunday have more time to talk about things. It's a 2 hour show while MOTD2 is 45 minutes.

I don't know what MOTD2 talked about because I didn't watch it but off the top of my head I'd guess the Tyne-Wear derby and the continued decline of the dominant English club of the last 20-25 years are bigger stories than a middle-sized, mid-table team beating a middle-sized, bottom of the table team.

I don't think it is true. As PTF says, it might get a brief mention during discussion of the game but that would be about it.

I've got us on 53 pts, and 8th place. Above Newcastle on GD.

Bottom of the table very tight (no surprise).

    Sunderland 38
    Villa 37
    Norwich 35
    WBA 34
    Stoke 34
    Cardiff 34
    Fulham 34
    West Ham 33
    Hull 32
    Palace 31

With Fulham beating Palace at home, and WBA beating Stoke at home, on the final day.

We are neither top nor bottom, so not sure what angle MOTD2 could take. Fulham's relegation is the only point of interest. Don't think we can complain this season....we had our moment in the sun earlier in the season.

Torn on the Arsenal/Palace game. I want Arsenal to win the league of all the contenders, but on the other hand Palace are underdogs and Punch is playng.

I wonder if we can get within 3 points of Man U by the final day. :)

As for Goals on Sunday, they did put us up last, was that because we were the last team they wanted to talk about, or they saved the best for last!?

Seventh spot could be worth a European place...though of course it won't matter to us as winners of the FA Cup. Be fun if us winning the cup deprived United in 7th spot of a European spot.

We will win our remaining 14 games, and everyone else will draw all the games they don't lose to us. That gives us the league title by something like 12 points.

Depends. Not playing in the Europa League next season might help Utd. Look at Liverpool this season - I wouldn't be backing them to hold onto 4th place if they still had Europa League games to come. It's touch and go for them even without those games.

On the other hand, failing to even qualify for the Europa League? Not exactly something Moyes would want on his CV.

If we win the FA Cup, we urgently need at least 5 quality players in the Summer. Swansea and Newcastle have had their seasons ruined.

That's a key word. Swansea added some extra bodies to their squad before the season started, presumably with the extra European games in mind. But I can't say that I've been overly impressed, by and large, by Shelvey, Amat, Canas, Pozuelo or Vázquez when I've seen them play in the PL. (And now Ngog and Emnes have been signed??!!)

We will need a new striker. Lambert is still quality, but he's not getting any younger or fitter.

People with Saints Player may have seen his post-Fulham match interview where he was replying to some obscure question by Adam Blackmore, and mentioned along the way that... as long as I'm here...

    And suddenly, I couldn't hear anything else. <wah> ;)
