Because your player moved his head towards ours - headbutt - red card, and at worst what Johnson did could be called a 'dive' - yellow card.
Oh great thanks for clarifying that numb nuts

All i will say is the FA have just endorsed over reaction to get a player sent off, i still say 2 yellows and a telling off should have happened.
Just a question, i wonder what the reaction would have been if suarez had reacted as Johnson did? I'd put money it would have made the back pages and him being called a cheating **** on boards like this.
Guru. If you don't stop speaking sense, then I will have no other option but to ask for a band for you.
I can't keep agreeing with you. It's not good for my street cred on here
To be fair Guru, I don't think many of us have defended Johnson. Disgraceful behaviour.
Yeah i know, just making a point on how its brushed under the carpet for one player and made a major footballing scandel for another.
Fair callIt's the profile of the player's involved though. Suarez might be the best player in the league right now, and can vary from brilliant to dirty cheat in 30 seconds (although he's seemed better this season). He's naturally going to grab headlines. Johnson is a mediocre defensive midfield for a club nobody outside Norfolk cares about. That player from below the conference who tried to punch a fan barely made a ripple, but was a far worse incident.
Ha! That's crazy but true.
But by that point it should of been about 5-0 to Newcastle anyway.
yes, but it wasn't. when we get criticised regularly for not taking our chances it's deemed 'not down to luck, its poor finishing' so likewise newcastle should also be critiqued. the game was very even in the 2nd half and we ended the match very much the stronger. it could have made the difference - just because we didn't deserve to win doesn't mean we wouldn't haveyes, but it wasn't. when we get criticised regularly for not taking our chances it's deemed 'not down to luck, its poor finishing' so likewise newcastle should also be critiqued. the game was very even in the 2nd half and we ended the match very much the stronger. it could have made the difference - just because we didn't deserve to win doesn't mean we wouldn't have
a point was a good result.
the way i look at it (and always have done) is that we are bang average. we are a long way away from where we'd all like us to be but equally, we are nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe - if we were 'that' bad, we certainly wouldn't be on 24 points right now. we are good at grinding out results - that might not be what some fans want to see and yes, we are incredibly frustrating to watch sometimes, but its more important to be resolute and difficult to beat than playing good football if you want to stay up. ultimately the goal should be to maintain that mentality and combine it with better quality football. it's far from impossible and people obviously have opposing views as to whether the current incumbent can make the transition (i would suggest it is still too early to tell given how fractured any possible team selection has been this season) but its a slow process. some people think this season has been appalling! i think it's been slightly disappointing. i thought we'd finish about 8 points above the drop. we currently sit 5 points above it. i'll happily take that come may so we can build again next season.
I get the impression that the way Hughton is going about building our squad is very long term and we are bringing in players for different areas in different windows. We got the defence strengthened in the first window, then we got 2 strikers and a strong CM. I'm hoping the next thing will be the creativity that we can build over the top of a more solid defence. The only problem is our defence has looked pretty wayward this season. I think this summer we'll get a new RB, a decent creative CM and then whoever else is available to improve on positions around the squad.
This is obviously all conjecture from me but I'd hope that's the way Hughton is looking at it.
As for Johnson, It was just a bit pathetic and I hope Tettey starts next week because even in the 15 or so minutes he was on the pitch we looked like a different team. I would have actually rather seen Tettey on for Johnson rather than RvW off for Elmander because Tettey closes down much quicker, tracks back better and generally allows Fer to roam a bit more. I think Fer had about 3 strong burst through the middle with Tettey there. I don't think he had one in the 80 minutes Johnson was on the pitch.
