11:58 Mercedes we hear that in the current race simulation of Nico Rosberg in terms of fuel consumption, everything is in the green zone. The Silver Arrows are obviously a step further than the competition.
11:21 Sauber has been having trouble with its braking system at Jerez, which could explain its laptimes. Better for the drivers to put on mileage at a slower pace than risk throwing it off (as Gutierrez did on day two).
It's official Mercedes can run a race distance already. 91 laps and it hasn't even been lunchtime yet.
Tobias Grüner F1 ‏@tgruener34s Rosberg was out a total of 72 laps. Came to the pits 3 times. Fuel consumption no issue we hear from Mercedes
Mercedes almost at 200 laps combined with half a day still to go Ferrari at 84 laps. Renault with an impressive 52.

When it rains, it pours for Renault Reports are surfacing this morning of more bad news for Renault F1, as their Head of Track Operations Rémi Taffin, was rushed to hospital last night with severe stomach pains. As a matter of coincidence, it has nothing to do with the extremely poor performance of the new Renault powertrain. Reports state it was a simple attack of appendicitis, with no further complications expected. He was operated on last night and remains under observation today. Just at the time that the leaders will need to stand together for the French manufacturer, health problems knock one of them back. It really seems the age old adage is true here for Renault, When it rains, it pours! http://thejudge13.com/2014/01/31/daily-f1-news-and-comment-friday-31st-january-2014/#Red Bull quick fix Get well soon! Surely 91 laps deserves a sit down lunch! please log in to view this image
More convinced than ever that Renault teams are under instruction not to push beyond a certain time. 37 laps for Kobi and still only a 1:43.1 to show for it. Torro Rosso a bit slower but a lot less laps. Any news on RBR running again? Not been seen for a while.
Track drying and teams getting faster. Alonso with a 1:35 Sahara Force India ‏@clubforce2m Lots of activity around the car at the end of Dani's 20+ lap run. #FeelTheForce pic.twitter.com/ArAyQSLgD9 please log in to view this image
Jamey Price ‏@jameypricephoto 9m Saw something interesting this morning. @redbullracing came by at low speed and a big spark shot out of the engine. Not good I'd say. #F1
thejudge13 ‏@thejudge13 44s Red Bull packing up. Next time we see the RB10 will be at the #F1 test in Bahrain
Being outdone by Caterham (Sorry Caterham) Marussia F1 Team ‏@Marussia_F1Team1m Lunchtime in Jerez. We've done some work with the brake by wire system & its interaction with the powertrain. Out again in a little while Same as Sauber's problem? Ferrari related perhaps?
