I know the bookies don't always get it right but having checked last night we were 3rd favourite to sign Holtby behind Schalke and Borrusia Dortmund. We're now 1/8 favourites to sign him. We can thank AC Milan if this one goes through.
Is this tied in with Spur's reputedly making a £1m bid for Berba? Story: http://whatculture.com/sport/spurs-...am-1-million-bid-re-sign-dimitar-berbatov.php Whatever, as we know Daniel Levy will not allow anything to happen until last minute Friday. Hang on there Craving!!
I'd have no problem seeing Holtby and Mitroglou come in and Berba leave. Then just another defender and we'd look a lot stronger.
I imagine it'll either be Holtby on loan for the remainder of the season or £1m, in return for Berba. Can't see it being both.
This is just me putting 2 + 2 together but Swansea just signed a young left back from Blackburn, maybe the Taylor deal is still on?
It's okay fellas, nails have been clipped, feeling calm. Berba off to spurs would be a good thing for Fulham and Berbatov if I'm honest. Taylor has been out for 18 months, not sure why we have tracked him tbh. Holtby would be a classy addition. If it all comes off I'd be happy(ish), need the points now and the coach(es) to set the team up properly.
Apparently Mauricio Pochettino accidentally announced to the media that we have signed Holtby, the club have denied it but presumably that's because it can't be confirmed until the Tarby deal is done. Also: Pete O'Rourke ‏@SkySportsPeteO 1m Fulham have made a new bid for Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley. #FFC #SAFC
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ter-United-Larnell-Cole-Ryan-Tunnicliffe.html Kvist confirmed - two Utd academy players, both midfielders, maybe on the horizon too.
This is the source of Holtby rumours http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/m...lham-have-signed-lewis-holtby-from-tottenham/
Holtby would be a ridiculous signing. It does sadden me that it's only on loan, but you can't have it all!
Guardian reporting that Khan has made £15-20m available - presume just recently as Rene would've spent it by now I guess. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jan/30/dimitar-berbatov-leave-fulham-kostas-mitroglou After weeks of nothing it's all kicking off today!
More so this year because the situation hasn't been good since well before January. We'll wait to see but points may not have been dropped (Sunderland at home) if moves had been made earlier, particularly if the 'war chest' is apparently quite sizable in the context of Fulham.
Totally agree, my point was that very few transfers are made until the last couple of days, it's the 'domino' effect, isn't it! Happens every year. It would've been nice to have had some new faces in at the turn of the year, but it rarely works out like that.
They may have to cash in though. If he won't sign a new contract he'll be gone for free in the summer.
Well, reading the link Silkship gave us, they say that Schalke's move for him failed because they wanted him on loan and Spurs wanted to sell him. If that's the case, maybe it will be a permanent move to us as part of a bigger deal involving Berba. It's all guesswork, of course, but things are certainly getting interesting now.
