"Where as last time Spurs won a major trophy, (FA Cup) Chesney hawkes still belived he was the one and only" Have there been other Chesney Hawkes since then ??
Im Welsh, (which hampers spelling more than dyslexia,) its my keyboards fault anyway and Im a membber of thenational 'R' party, which is currently pushing for greater use of the letter R in the english language.
We've won the League Cup since then, which you seem to have forgotten, somewhat strangely. One of your fellow Scousers even mentioned winning it a couple of pages back...
To be fairrrrr I did say major Trrrrrophy. Id bbbbe happy to win it, but I hold Fa Cup, Prrrremierrrrr League and Champions League with highest rrrregarrrrd
Now you're just being silly. Arsenal have failed to win the last two, though. They may have to play a qualifier to get into the next one...
I remember the days when the Makita international was sought after summer cup. Elton Welsby presenting.. We even used to win the league back in those days
I think we've won around 11 trophies since we were last champions of England including a Champions League, are we supposed to forget about those successes just to keep within the myth you believe? Our past/last trophy is as recent as 2 seasons ago, how recent is Spurs? We are currently better than Spurs and others but not as good as City, Arsenal or Chelsea, we won't win the league, we might finish top4, we are making steady progress on recent seasons and our newish manager has us playing a better brand of football than in recent years, and that's it really, so all the stereotypical stuff is just tumbleweed.
Again : You haven't won the league for 20 odd years because you are no longer any good. You have finished in the PL below a "small" club such as Spurs for the past 4 (perhaps soon to be 5) seasons for the same reasons. Whether that period will also stretch out to 20 odd yrs, time will tell. When the Poool hordes can deal with these simple facts, then they will be at peace with finishing below Spurs in the league.
You dismiss out of hand our victory in the competition you yearn to be in. We ain't won the league since 89-90 because we ain't been good enough. But we ain't done to bad in the years since 3 European trophies including the big one and a losing final, how's Spurs interim period of half a century going? We are where we are and that's it
"You dismiss out of hand our victory in the competition you yearn to be in." 1. Again, not the english league. 2. A competition you repeatedly participated in during your prime, as league champions or defending champions. NOT as domestic league 3rd-4th place also-rans. 3. THFC yearn for the EASY MONEY that said also-rans have got fat on, during the reign of the Sky 4.
Actually YV its four, but no doubt the Uefa Super Cup will be dismissed out of hand despite only being able to enter it after winning the CL or EL/Uefa Cup.
So after banging on about the 20 plus years since our last title win you keep moving the goalposts, I mentioned what wed won during the period between then and now but according to you those successes don't matter. If your club ever wins the CL will you accept it being brushed under the carpet by somebody looking for a comfort blanket because of their clubs mediocrity?
