I believe he's like lightening isn't he? I have to admit I'm not sure we're exactly lacking pace anyway <laugh> My worry JS is that these players are great when teams are defending high but we struggle (more) against those back lines that won't advance off the edge of the box. I agree it really doesn't seem like the area that we should be gunning for a player (does Sterling really deserve to be dropped right now?) but I guess we get what we're given eh <ale> I'd rather sign someone than no one as long as he's improving us somewhere.

At least it won't be a struggle to find a word to rhyme with his surname <whistle>

exactly, buy players better than we have already in the team so they then become backup, not buy more cheap crap as back up.

improve on what we have in the team, not improve the squad, supposed to have done that already.

That is absolutely true. My concern is that we badly need a defensive midfielder and full backs.

I'm not saying that we don't need Kono - but I think we have bigger priorities.

He's an intelligent player who can keep the ball in tight spaces and pick passes. He's naturally a winger but can play on either flank and in the middle. Much more to his game than just speed. <ok>

Agree on Sterling - he's been fantastic.

  6. Right, who the actual **** is Yevhen Konoplyanka? Has anyone ever heard of him? What position does he play? Is he really worth £16m? His stats suggest not for a winger (Independent suggest he's a winger)

So what clubs arent allowed to be interested in PSG's players?

    -----------

Recent reports have suggested that City may make a January offer for 23-year-old French midfielder Matuidi, whose current contract with PSG runs out at the end of the season.

The Ligue 1 giants themselves have been linked with a number of big names, but the club's president insists that they always try to follow the rules while trying to sign players and expect their rivals to do the same.

Al-Khelaifi has also admitted that PSG tried to sign Hazard from Lille in 2012, but backed out once they realised that Chelsea were in an advanced stage of negotiation.

"Interest from Manchester City in Matuidi? I am not worried because they know that if they touch one of our players, then we will be in opposition to them, and we will go and contact their players too," he told L'Equipe.

"We respect all clubs, but if a club tries to buy one of our players, then it will have to face consequences.

"We respect all clubs, but if a club tries to buy one of our players, then it will have to face consequences. I don't aim this at Manchester City, as from what I know, they did not contact Matuidi."

Wikipedia has this to say about him: Yevhen Olehovych Konoplianka is a bad lemohead.

It also says he has 21 goals in 16 games this season, but I'm pretty sure its less than that.

  18. Wiki is where I looked first. Says he's got 33 goals and 23 assists in 157 games. Not the worst record in the world but then, he's playing in a poor league too.

Edit: I looked for Yevhen Konoplyanka but you said Yevhen Olehovych Konoplianka, is there different pages?
