Would be a massive signing if we can pull it off. Again, not exactly what we need right now but he is a class player who can only add to our attack. It makes sense why we didn't offer more money for Salah now. He was seen as the 'cheap' option. If we had to pay £16m for him, then we might as well go for the 'upgrade' who is Kono. Or could Salah have been the smokescreen all along?.. Also, another rumour that we're in for Vidal. Pretty much impossible but still nice to dream.
ehhhhh why track salah for 3months as a back up... i don;t know perhaps we only ever intended to buy late i nthe window to get best price for all... why go for cheap one first if not first choice.. first we don;t really know how much this guy will really cost. perhaps we just got the nod from his agent, perhaps we wonly rated salah at 8mil and this guy at 15mil or whatever. i don't know but on the 29th jan? time to **** or get off the pot
Please yes. I bought him but because he's not in the PL he dropped my team #chemistry too much and I sacked him off.
re: attackers.... the popular theory is you can't coach quality but you can buy it. put a donkey in at lb and you can get by... put moses in at lw... you can't. pack up your squad with great midfielders then donkeys like mertesacker and koscielny and even szezesny look players of the year. 12 months ago mertesacker looked a total dog... he's got the turning circle of a bus... stick flamin in front and dominate possession i nmidfield? look great. LFc can get by with great attackers... especially if you then add another conspiracy that suarez is off to real no matter what this summer. get them in now and know where you are at upfront without him... etc etc. in the end however every LFC fan is right a real midfielder is going to prob make all the difference to our side.
but don't forget he made a similar type of odd comment with borini didn't he, saying we would be excited by his potential. hoping the major signing if there is one would be costa or that type of signing, but doubt we can afford it now and he would move.
You'd be surprised. He's highly rated around Europe, represented his country 35 times and is only 24, and is touted as the best talent out of Ukraine since Shevchenko. The Ukrainian league may be weak compared to others but he has delivered on the international stage as well becoming one of their best players. IMO - this is the level of player we should be targeting. Not world class but certainly has the potential. Would class him in the Coutinho/Sakho category.
It was a good goal as well (if it's the one I'm thinking of...curler into the top corner) but in fairness my dog could rip either of those two for 90 mins
Lol true. He has so much to his game - speed, skill, intelligence, movement, hard work. Think he is a midfielder who will help add goals to the team. Again, I question why Rodgers is hell bent on signing an attacking midfielder but if it does materialise, Kono is definitely worth it.
Never been quoted so many times in a row. Didn't mean to sound so negative, just hopeful of a good player. Maybe he is that.
We need some back up. Our 1st team, when all fit, are as good as any in the Prem, but players need a rest and to be able to rotate with equal quality is what City and Chelsea can do and we can't. What would happen if we lost 2 of SAS/Coutinho/Sterling we would hardly have any attack. It makes sense if the guy is available. I would prefer a planned purchase than a panic buy to fill a gap now who then ends up useless and just another cost on the wage bill.
