Nah that was Lewis actually making a mistake on the downforce levels he used to have at McLaren and locked it up, this looks more like an actual front wing failure.
Lee McKenzie: "There are rumours one of the top teams will also not run today, and I hear another may not have been able to start and engine when they tried this morning." Adam Cooper @adamcooperf1 For those asking no news yet on when the McLaren will run, delay related to 'rear end' of car, said a source thejudge13 ‏@thejudge13 So Mclaren may not run today I'm hearing #F1
Mercedes done for the day I reckon. Front wing generating so much downforce it ripped itself from the car Seriously, not good seeing as they were one of the few who hadn't had any mechanical issues to that point so woudl have looked good to put some decent mileage on the car.
Merc are so far ahead that they have managed to have their first crash before most of the teams have even left the garage.
Looking at damage wise only the front right suspension looks damaged + nose. 2.5-3 hr job and should be back for Afternoon.

De ja vu... The Ferrari will have a cook up next. The bbc website has gone into meltdown. Benson probably has rage quit
At least Mercedes can go fast enough to crash at this rate nobody will be in the 107% rule come qualifying.
Peter Windsor ‏@PeterDWindsor 2m Lewis's front wing failure occurred where pylons bond on to the hard centre structure. Team at first thought it was rear wing problem Hopefully Merc should be out for the last 60-90mins
