Clubs don't usually do other clubs favours especially when they are in the same division unless there is something in it for them. So based on the fact that Moyse is now apparently letting Zaha and Fabio come to us, who was Ferguson Mk2 monitoring at the Reebock yesterday as a favour returned?
He wont get a medal for his results this season will he. I cannot remember the last time we had to sell a player we wanted to keep since Tan took over. It seems strange to me that he would let Zaha and Fabio go without a personal issue with them. jck
You're right as far as not having to sell is concerned but even massive clubs, far bigger than us, struggle to hold on to talent if/when the big boys start sniffing around
Agreed Pont - there are probably only two clubs that can say a positive no to suitors for their players without having to consider the cash implication. There's no doubt we are a much stronger position now than in the Ridsdale/Jones era where we were fighting off the IR every month, but in the greater scheme of things, I doubt we'd refuse a silly offer for any of our players.
It won't be Daelhi, the reason he didn't sign at the same time as Eikrem was Man U were deciding if they wanted to take up their option to take him. If they wanted him, he wouldn't have come to us in the first place. I think Moyes was only there because Man U didn't hae a game and we're next up.
Alright boys, long time no post. I hear you're bringing Fabio to Cardiff? We had him on loan for the whole of last season and despite it being an awful campaign, culminating in relegation, there were one or two players that consistently performed well. Fabio was one of them. He's a very good full back and your Manager has made a good signing there. He'll do a good job for you lads, no doubt about it.
Massive massive difference between the Prem and Championship football but the lad seems solid and yes a good signing .
We was in the Prem last year mate - heaven help us. He's a very good player mate. A quality signing if it goes through. BTW, do you lads reckon Ole will be allowed get on with his job without interference from Tan? I think he's a very good up and coming young manager. I'd just be concerned with him working under a Chairman who doesn't seem very stable. I was listening to our own football Sage on this side of the sea - John Giles - and here's what he made of the situation. Do you think its fair comment lads? Cheers for the info on fabio. We do not have a player in our squad that would interest the top 6/7. Maybe Everton might see us as a bargain bin but none of our current squad have stamped their authority on the PL. Noone will be bought by one of the bottom 10 if we go down. Caulker, Medel probably have release clauses at less or equal what we paid.
I listened up to 39 mins and John Giles seemed to have read all the papers and fan forums for his (very dubious and ill-informed) information. Malky is keeping quiet about it for once and so is Moody so how does Giles speak with any authority on the subject ? Seems like 'Off the Ball' had a spot that needed filling with anything kinda newsworthy
