Kenny never decided a single transfer fee, it was Comoli just for the record (and in fairness to him he got us Suarez for £22mill, Enricky for 6 and Bellers for free plus the Hendo deal has proven good value for money now too). Besides which it is only fair to point out Rodgers has "wasted" £40 mill on Borini, Allen, Aspas and Ilori and his best performing players during his tenure have all been players from previous regimes. As Dave says all managers make mistakes but I can't have the "if only Rodgers had had that money argument" as it doesn't add up. If he'd had that money but no Suarez or Hendo for example who's to say we'd be any better off at all.
The best performing players in Rodgers' tenure have also included Sturridge and Coutinho... We've only really had a handful of standout players!
I'd be a lot more gutted about this then them getting Mata: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...nited-bid-23m-Southampton-left-Luke-Shaw.html
Where are Man Utd getting this money from. They are bleeding money from all over the place and they will continue to do so with their awful football. They need to sell to buy, I think they're in for a shock when it comes to FFP.
Not surprising we can't sign anyone if transfer fees are this inflated. Shaw's a good young player but 23 million is about 13 million too much.
I don't believe it is for the modern market. Shaw as been one of the best LB's in the league this season, he is young and English (premium). I wouldn't be happy about us spending that sort of figure on a FB though.
Unfortunately they make £100 mill more than us each year- bigger stadium, Champions League, etc- so they have that much more money... well... minus the £200 mill they pay in debt interest every 5 seconds. / might have inflated their debt there slightly.
