Same dullard stuff was said about RvP.

Went well.

He'll fit in just fine, dont worry your silly little head over it pal.

Was it? I dont see why. Rooney is a great classic strike partner for an out and out striker. Works well with RVP, worked well with Owen.

Mata works best in a free role behind a loan striker. But can also work from wide if given freedom.

Rooney plays best in a free role off a main striker.

Roney was always held back by Ronaldo in the free role.

If both have free roles you'l be far to open.

You not seen anything of him before then?

A few games in the Brazilian league and in the u20 world cup with Brazil. Tidy player but going to Serie A will really test where he is at in terms of the wonder kid tab.

Rooney, Tevez and C.Ronaldo play in a front three with freedom to roam a few times and it worked well. I see no reason why RvP can't be the focal point with both Rooney and Mata free to roam around him.

****ed up Fifa 15 too <grr>

really.. mata "works best"

SAS lads SAS... people said a lot of things about sturridge and suarez.

If there's a will and talent there's always a way to make something of it.

now on "too open"

read robben, ribery and any one of 3 big men up front for bayern... too open? I think not.

There's a world of systems and ways to get great results out of those 3 so i reckon its high time to get back to "why the F cheslea think this is a good idea" rahter than "it'll never work" cos thats wishful thinking.

On the balance of probabilities it should work. after all if utd are willing to be 40mil on it....

add berbaflop to that list as well... at times they had all 4 on... but it did annoy tevez mind.

Its all about the next signings in midfield and why i said that if they stick mata cm with carrick they are stupid. two midfielders and use full backs for width and utd could come back as a totally different style but i can't see moyes being this flexible or open to change.

I could even see a 4-5-1 with mata and rooney and carrick as the middle and two wide men too boot. that would be silly.

but like i said theres numerous better ways i can see myself of making those 3 work brilliantly.

Haha, it is a loan, with probably option to buy. What is funny with Adryan is he doesn't look like a player but he is good. Sort of how you look at Lucas and you think, no ****ing way this guy is Brazilian! Similar to that but obviously Adryan plays the no.10 role.

Cm's though, seem to keep missing out on some pretty good ones. Jorginho to Napoli, Guarin unhappy and chillin at Inter ( 27 so plenty of life in those legs), Fernando, M;vila being seen at the derby, etc. Wish we would make a move or at least a pretty credible source saying we have tabled a bid. Give me some hope!

If we have posters questioning why we haven't bought players then surely you look at that question? No one is claiming to be in the kow, I've clearly said as much too, but it is feasible that we lack funds and that is why. Of course, we could have £200m sat their and we just don't feel we've found the right player but I doubt it.

There is a hell of a difference between not having the cash or access to enough finance and not having a budget for it! All I'm asking that people try and think strategically.

If we lack the funds then question FSG but talking about having spent the budget is puerile!

I obviously didn't like the outcomes but that team was great to watch too.

For goodness sake! Will you lot stop blathering on about budgets when you obviously have little idea about them. A budget is merely a control mechanism set in the light of circumstances that currently exist and/or that we feel will exist within the life of the budget. Their purpose is to aid our achievement of our corporate objectives.

However, if circumstances change and the is a good enough argument forwarded by operational management thn the executive (FSG/JH) can authorise any spending that is required within the extended bounds that they decree.

So if Mata costs £40 million and BR said he was vital then FSG could approve it. Even if BR had spent the planned January budget it is not the end of the story. But the loss of Lucas might be!

The forum will get very boring if we just comment on what we know for certain (especially with us lot <laugh>)....I don't particullary want everyone to sign on in the morning and post "I don't know anything concrete so I'm not going to post at all today". You can't expect the plebs amongst us (me included) to think in purely "business" terms Dave, we're footy fans discussing our team/club. If we wanted to discuss the ins and outs of the definition of "a budget" we'd be posting on the not606 Financial Times board <whistle>

The fact that we've been discussing the "possibility" that buying Sakho and Ilori in the summer might have impacted the Jan "budget" shows we already know that "budgets" (in the simple terms that we see them) are flexible and not set in stone.

No one has claimed definite knowledge of things one way or another (we leave that to Hash, Sky's window cleaner and RHC's reporter) but there's no reason for us NOT to speculate on how much we may or may not have to spend in the window and the reasons why we may or may not spend it <ok>

Not for me he doesn't. I always get the best out of him on the left, either as LAM or LW depending on who I'm playing against.

Already pointed out we'll have money one way or another come the summer <ok>

I think that is a shampoo over here. <ok>

phew...

good for basel, they got their silly fee. bad for chavland and now they've an assaidi type on their bench to go with the moses... oops pointless.

good for us as he's proved his mettle.

BR asked on Salah: "Nothing as of yet, there's nothing imminent."

Also GJ is out!!!! <diva>

Looks like Kelly/Toure will get a chance then?

has to be kelly...

rodgers has used his catch all... its not a i don't talk about other teams players though which suggests like we all already know there were discussions.

I'm sure if he did sign for us not chavland then everyone would go mad that we beat them to a world class talent all of a sudden. god knows if they've even bid i dunno....
