Even though United have gone down the drain,I honestly thought this would be a shoe in for them at home.
Sorry Sunderland......now gone on and win it!

2 crap teams, deciding a crap game with a crap penalty shoot-out. It was entertaining though.

If Welbeck, Smalling and Cleverley go to the World Cup I'll be embarrassed for English football.

Bit harsh on Smalling as he wasok tonight, agree on the other 2

Mata, Rvp and Rooney, will they ever play in the same team?

Utd need to sort out their defensive situation, centreback and a dynamic defensive midfielder but are spending 37 million on Mata.

Could bee a poison chalice for Sunderland, there's been a couple of finalists in a rele battle that have gone down because of the distraction of a Final. Most teams put a weak one out the PL game before, they can't afford to be doing that etc.

And we thought the AVB turmoil was bad.
Man Utd just do not seem to be able to do anything right in domestic competition
at the moment.

Whether you think Mata is the right player for ManU or not, he will still make them stronger. And that is really annoying. It appears that top clubs in the PL have got out have selling players to their rivals, with the exception of ManU who have benefitted from RVP and now Mata. If this is some scheme to gain tactical advantage by Chelski it stinks even more. It is entirely possible that this transfer could sneak ManU into the CL places and that could lead to yet another "nearly" season for us. Does anyone think the transfer would have gone ahead if Chelski had to play ManU again this season?

No doubt the PL fixture stuff is coincidental.
Some are suggesting that if players like Mata and DeBruyne no longer figure with Jose,
then getting rid at a fair price may be driven by the UEFA FFP stuff.

I can't be alone in thinking that Collymore wouldn't have the whinge about the abuse he receives on twatter if he wasn't such a gobshite excuse for a pundit, can I?

Nobody deserves abuse like that for their opinions on a football game, particulary when it comes to Suarez diving. (Not even Piskie) Once again the Klanfield label seems to stick. He has a point...

Maybe Chelsea don't see Utd as rivals anymore. A bit insulting, but they're certainly unlikely to be this season...even with Mata...
