Hoping, if true, this was more or less done before Lucas got injured as it is not the signing we really need right now.

Am totally indifferent about this. Yet another circa £8-10m player who hasn't played week in week out in the EPL. He may be well worth it but as said, we have other priorities than risk a chunk, maybe all of our pot on him!

I agree... salad looks good in the footage I've seen of him... but I hope that $8 to $12 mill isn't going to limit who/what we get to spend on DM and Full backs.


Would salad mean we see Raheem and Cooties less?
 
its 10mil i hope not 15mil.

i am indifferent as it doesn't improve the 1st 11.

coutinho, sturridge suarez. salah doesn't to come in he's a 10 mil bench warmer.... breaks rule 1 of improving 1st 11 and displacing someone.

maybe we have been given the green light on this and it wont effect other signings coming in.

although i did post something the other day about potentially if we dont get top 4 then the signings now will come out of it in the summer budget.
 
Really expecting Salah to be a flop if he signs. Hope he proves me wrong.
Still hope we are negotiating deals for players we actually need.

Would push COutinho to no.10 I think but still doesn't solve the DM issue. Adds a proper no.10 playmaker though and Cout's best position.

oh...and if we don't get top 4, our summer budget just gets bigger! As does the hole Suarez will leave!
 
Bizarre. Metro.co.uk is suggesting that Salah's transfer is being sped up BECAUSE of Lucas... suggesting somehow he is a replacement for Lucas.

I know Rafa would sign wingers to fullbacks and strikers to be wingers (and oddly sometimes get it right)...

I can't see Rodgers signing Salah as a DM though.

Could just mean we now have an immediate priority and they want to wrap this one up quick and get the other CM signing done?? Maybe? Hopefully? Possibly?

having seen the villa game... that was the experiment i wanted though for 15 mins. he didn't do it. cannot see a 4-2-3-1 working for us or a 4-2-1-3 with gerrard in the defensive role
 
Rumours really hotting up now on Salah. Looks like he's close now.

Just need to get M'Vila/Fernando sorted, and hopefully a full back.
