To say they where there all the way for the domestic treble!! . I know Pellegrini had his doubters but he was smart enough to bring in two Spanish players perfect for the English game while we got Soldado!

Attendance at Hoof It Park tonight is 14390 <laugh>.

An estimated 3000 were away fans <laugh>.

Oh, dear! That lot won't even fill one end of the Olympic Stadium! They are going to be a complete joke in the Championship.

Tbh I thought Pellegrini was the reason behind their early stutters, I also had Navas down to flop!...looks like he's needed half a season to get to know his best team. <whistle> Fair play to heem!

Nothing wrong with stuttering.....as long as it's corrected. It's likely the early season issues helped him settle as pressure brings out reactions in managers and aside from having eyes which want to explode (unfortunately his natural look)..... He's coped well!

Navas isn't too far off the effectiveness of say someone like Pires in his first season. Scores goals, assists. Yet looks a bit flimsy at times. I like his direct pacey style but like Pellegrini started off looking questionable.

Hopefully Soldado can prove me wrong and show he does suit our game. Sherwood at least is trying to help him but as he's under pressure to get top four then Bobby will need to start delivering soon.

Yeah we definitely got the wrong Spaniard didn't we? The fact we paid £10m more for Soldado than City did Negredo makes it even more painful.

Not much comment about the Mata to ManU (rumour?) On one had the most weird of business with Chelski selling one of their best players to one of their rivals. Surely there are many questions here:

1. What is the Special One thinking?

2. Do Chelski not consider ManU to be one of their rivals any more?

3. Are Chelski deliberately trying to strengthen ManU as they still have to play teams that Chelski are competing with for the PL?

4. Do ManU actually have that sort of money to spend or have the window fitters pocketed it?

Of these No.3 is the most concerning for me. It shows a potential influence that a team can have over and above the games it plays. I feel the same about loaning players to rival clubs and think that should not be allowed within the same division (and I know we have done this but I still disagree). There would seem to be a potential for these money no object clubs to sell on good players to teams they have either played both their games against and/or teams they do not consider a threat, in order to deliberately strengthen this other team against those they think are their rivals! I think this is morally corrupt, but in no way a surprise.

5. Where does he fit in the Utd team when Van Persie and Rooney are fit? I don't think Mata addresses their biggest problems, which are further down the pitch in midfield and defence.

IMO Soldado would have succeeded at City and Negredo struggled with us. I think it is down to the team and not the player. How can you not succeed at City with the players around him whereas Soldado has come into a less settled team

True but then Soldado has missed some glorious opportunities in recent weeks and in all honesty, when you buy a player for £26m you have to expect some sort of return from him, especially as he's an experienced player. 1 goal from open play in the league is a very poor return so far. Some of Negredo's goals have been from his own doing too (like the one vs West Ham yesterday), Soldado looks like he needs to rely on our lads to feed him the ball and when they have, as I mentioned, he's missed some pretty good chances.

I'm not writing him off though for the record, I think he can become a great striker here but just considering the values spent and the difference in impacts each player has made, it's just a little disappointing from my point of view.

Soldado is another Pav, as I have said many times before.

A complete waste of decent money.

Bang on SD, Gary Neville said as much Mon night, why do MU want an AM who CAN'T get a game at Chelsea, there absolutely has to be a reason. With Mata supposedly star of the show....they finished 6th one season, and we all know what kept them in the CL! Wherever Mata goes next, he's on the team sheet, but there's the rub when all are fit, who you gonna drop?

Ancellotti was prepared to make him a focal point going forward, but having other players compensate for his fairly ineffective defence work, Mourinho doesn't want to do that. So far JM is not wrong, don't care what anyone says, its horses for courses, and Mata doesn't suit the going at the Bridge!

He doesn't fit in unless Moyes goes against the history of the club and abandons two wingers for the first time. Will he? He might have to do something radical, but what Utd really need is younger legs in midfield- players who are more dynamic and can carry and pass the ball forward and run back towards goal and harry the opposition. Nobody does these jobs anymore. The ageing Carrick can still pass and the fragile Fletcher can still harry and tackle, but they aren't the answer. It's difficult to find another Robson, Keane or Scholes, but there are players like Barkley who show promise. Januzaj will finish up in the centre, but not for 2-3 years as he is not physically strong enough yet. The defence is knackered so it's time to play Jones at centre back every game and make him the focal point of the defence so that he can rediscover the form and confidence he had as a teenager at Blackburn. A fit Evans can do a job, but he needs to play regularly alongside Jones to build up a partnership. Moyes is cleary trying to sign a left back and Rafael has shown he can play well if the rest of the defence functions. He hadc a good season last year and adds a lot going forward.

This is interesting

Was Neymar [Not Bale] the most expensive transfer ever?Posted on Jan 21st, 2014 by Footy Jokes

The legal action by Jordi Cases against Sandro Rosell for the misappropriation of €40 million is uncovering all of the figures involved in the Neymar deal. New documents came to light yesterday which were previously unknown to the 'Culé' member. Whilst MARCA reported last week on the existence of a €10 million payment, yesterday 'El Mundo' revealed the existence several contracts in favour of the company Neymar & Neymar.

With this new evidence, the transaction to sign the player now amounts to €90.6 million for a variety of concepts. Based on this, it also becomes clear that the Neymar camp - the player and company owned by his father - will receive €105.1 million over the next five years. That isan average of €21 million gross per season.

In short, Barcelona has paid a total of €90.6 million broken down as follows: €17.1 million to Santos for federation rights in 2013; €40 million to Neymar & Neymar for compensation for federation rights from 2014 onwards; €7.9 million for purchase options on three promisingSantos players; €4.5 million for a friendly with the Brazilian club; a €10 million signing-on bonus; and the €11.1 million to the Neymar camp mentioned above. barca found guilty in neymar deal then they will be banned from ucl and 22 points will be deducted from their current la liga campaign

If Barca found guilty in Neymar deal then they will be banned from Uefa Champions League and 22 points will be deducted from their current La Liga Campaign.

Although €90m is still less than Bale in answer to their original question
