It seems the FA are thinking of a name change for their own competition. Interesting.

The Budweiser FA Cup? Please stop
Bringing us the FA Cup in association with Budweiser has proved as appealing as a flat half-pint.
Nobody beyond broadcasters mentions the sponsorship link and most football fans would not even know the identity of the FA’s partner. Now renaming the competition in its entirety is being discussed: the Budweiser FA Cup. Please stop.
It will always be the FA Cup or, to most of us, just the Cup. The only way a sponsor would get value for money is if the FA removed itself from the name, meaning teams would compete for a miserable nonentity: the Budweiser Cup.
A truly radical idea would be for the FA to accept that some family silver is simply too valuable to be sold but that ship appears to have sailed.

Stop Drinking Budweiser. We should form a pressure group to stop it. Football Association Till We Abstain. (FATWA).

No it's not. If it's renamed to the Budweiser Cup it's a brand new competition. The FA cup will no longer exist.

If that's the case why do you always refer to The League Cup as The COC?

I wonder id Allam would point to the FAs own name change for a bit of moola as an example .
Personally i dont care what they call the FA cup anymore - nowhere else in my life does time stand still , we will all pop our clogs

No one likes Budweiser. If it werent for ping pong balls no one would drink it anymore.

So by changing the name they're doing away with all past history and tradition?

I knew what COC stands for, as I also know COCK stands for Tickler.

It's still The League Cup yet you refer to it by it's sponsor's name, will you not start to do the same with the FA Cup?
