The Indispensable One...

I'd say the biggest misses, when they've not played this season are: Boruc, Vic, Lovren, Adam (just half a game). So I can't pick one, but so far this year, that is my order judging by what has happened when they are not there.

No. No. And no again. We need him alongside Morgan. Both of them are in a different class to Cork.

 

I like Wanyama and will be glad to have him back, but the thought of him trying to keep the ball in front of the goal as a CB....No!!

 

Wanyama, no question. You only have to look at our defensive record while he's been out.

 

He played centre-half for Celtic on occasion. Would you rather have Cork and Schneiderlin in midfield, or Hooiveld at the back?

 

Neither. Yoshida at the back.

 

Wanyama is perfectly capable as a CB. Would I play him there? Not sure. Yoshida is poor.

 

But has Yoshida played with Wanyama in front of him? I don't think so.

 

I think Yoshida is decent, and agree that with Wanyama in front of him, he'd do just fine. Wanyama would bring a certain presence to the centre of defence, though he pretty much played as a third centre back when we had possession anyway.

 

I don't think Yoshida should play until he promises to score an overhead kick at a corner. Teasing us with the bloody you tube goal!

 

aside from one incredible brain fart he's had each time he's come into the side and one later on last season, i haven't thought Yoshida is that bad either.

they are bloody catastrophic though.

 

Steve Davis leads the assist charts for us this season. There's an argument for him as well surely!

I wouldn't want Wanyama playing CB ever. Have you seen how many passes our CBs are expected to play to keep the ball? No thank you. If it came to a midfielder playing CB then I would rather it be Cork with Wanyama and Schneiderlin in the midfield.

 

Very tough one. Went for boruc, because he's one of the best in the league and the quality of our replacement's!
Agree lovren and wany are crucial.... and we create little without lallana... and would be nowhere without j-rods goals. But for me its boruc, the whole back line is more assured.
Guess this shows we are a complete team.

EDIT as stated above Davis is a great player but never gets the credit.

 

Cork's a bit lightweight isn't he? Not the greatest tackler either. Or in the air. Thing is, though the defenders play a lot of passes, they're all easy, no pressure, side-to-side or back to keeper type passes. Even Wanyama can do those. He's be much better than Cork in that position.

 

I went for Lovren...if he's out for as long as they say, I hope I am wrong.

 

I don't remember us missing Wanyama that much vs City. Cork was superb that day.

 

I'm worried that circumstances might be about to prove you right. Though the real problem appears to be the lack of back up. Get well soon Dejan ffs.
