So that is both the good and the bad. Hard to beat, but let the opposition off the hook more times than we should.
Agree with that CBK, and the comment on Spurs. We were poor, but even then could have won it. Is there a point you are getting at? Is it that we are doing ok/pretty good and that we just need to start turning these teams over?
Just stuck in my head after yesterday's game and flicking back through the results confirmed it. Does mean we are doing well, but could... SHOULD... be so much better.
No team wins all the games it should do, but yes we seem to be particularly bad at letting points slip through our grasp. Just goes to show playing nice pretty passing football doesn't give you a divine right to win games. Need to have a bit more steel at both ends of the field as well.
A few more quality additions plus the return of Osvaldo & Wanyama should see an improvement in results.
You should have been well clear of by half time yesterday. We were looking to win by the end though. Not sure you deserved to win at St marys. The draw was the correct result.
We should have won both, definitely. We somehow failed to pick up at 2ft midget in the box from a corner.
You didn't do enough in the first game to win. You defended poorly in letting a midget win a header and didn't offer enough going forward to warrent the three points. Yesterday though you should have wrapped it up, but we showed good spirit to come back.
I would argue that it was touch and go whether or not we deserved to win at WBA and/or Liverpool. Even more so if you say that the Norwich away defeat should have been a draw. All three seemed fairly even to me. And with the Liverpool game, I did think that Sturridge should have won a penalty. And Boruc made that great save from Gerrard's free-kick. The Spurs game is the weird one. Our attack deserved to at least draw that game, maybe win. Spurs were little more than average across the park. But our defence, especially in the last 30 mins after Cork was taken off, was diabolical and put in a performance worthy of losing any game. Certainly cannot argue that we've dropped a fair few points at home that we never should have. Sunderland, West Ham, Villa should all have been wins, no question. And even Man City, we played well and had some chances to win it.
Yep, we did defend it poorly, I agree with you there. Although, we completely dominated the rest of the game. It just took us so long to get the equaliser.
I believe he is referring to the 1st game, where Sunderland didn't cross the halfway line for 85 minutes after scoring.
As the away team the onus wasn't on us to go out and attack. Soton didn't do enough to break us down to deserve the three points. A draw certainly, but three points no.
