I'm guessing Bruce is going to favour 3-5-2 to fit Long and Jelavic in the team, if that's the case we really need a new centre half. As excellent as Bruce has been defensively he's not comfortable enough on the ball at this level, he's had a couple of arse wobblers that we've been fortunate to evade punishment from but sooner or later at this level it will start getting punished.

But mainly as the central figure in a back 3 Bruce probably sees as much of the ball as any other City player in a match, I think we'd be a far more comfortable side with a more assured ball player to build a platform from.

He definitely needs a new contract ASAP though it runs out in the summer, and he's as good backup as we could hope for.

Really not sure why Hobbs went as he would have been a good option for that central role. I agree though we need a replacement for Bruce and Figueroa unless Brady is going to play LWB.

Be interesting to see how Bassong does, I was reading the Fulham FA cup thread and they were saying he was appalling.

Think Jeli will benefit from Sagbo's running and work rate.

3-1 to us :-)

As good a defender Hobbs is he's still not the comfortable ball player I'm thinking off. Although for this season I think he'd have been better to have in there than Bruce, he's too good to play second fiddle and sit on the bench more often than not.

Christ Jelavic you've got to score from there. Got him first scorer hope I don't regret that miss.

Phil Thompson reckons Jelavic has missed a sitter.
