Reports that Liverpool, United, Arsenal, and strangely QPR had scouts at the PSG x Bordeaux game. Levezzi? Pastore? Van der Wiel? Menez? Matuidi? Thoughts? More Question marks?

Liverpool Football Club deployed scouts at Benfica's clash against Porto on Sunday.

Reports in Portugal and in The Express newspaper in the UK, claim that Liverpool were checking out Porto midfielder Fernando. The 26-year-old looked set for a move to Rafa Benitez's Napoli but as yet a deal still hasn't been pushed through. Other Serie A clubs have also been linked with him.

Fernando's contract is up next summer so he's said to be available for a reduced fee. However his agent Antonio Araujo recently claimed that terms with Porto had been agreed on a new deal but nothing has been inked since then.Confirmation of our attendance at the fixture doesn't come as a surprise due to chatter linking us with activity in Portugal that's been shared on our members' website recently.

One of our most reliable sources posted earlier this month that Liverpool had made approaches to Benfica and Roma.He said: "I suspect Ola John and Alessio Cerci as both have been scouted this season but I'd like to be clear that I haven't heard any [specific] chatter about them."I don't know either club or their leagues so other considerations are possibly best made by you.

"Ian [Ayre] has spoken to Newcastle and Chelsea this week but these could be enquiries [from them] and not just us looking at their availabilities [of their players].

"The KOPTALK editor followed that up this week during a members' update. Portugal was again under discussion. He said: "I really do believe that this approach for Ola John is genuine but there is definitely contact with Ajax (Viktor Fischer and possible others) and a link to Portugal."We know that there has been contact with Benfica but I can't help but think that John isn't a high interest (priority target)."There's something else in Portugal going down, I am convinced of this because there's communication / travel within that country associated to ourselves.

"While we believe Fernando is a player that Liverpool would like to recruit, and we do believe our interest in him to be genuine, we would advise that you also consider other players that were involved that day. Click here for the line-ups. Note that Benfica's Ola John wasn't involved but he's a player that we have definitely enquired about.

ALex Sandro is a promising RB and I think there is a danilo ( or is that the one at Udinese) who is also useful.

Jorginho has been described as a goal scoring Allen ...

Wouldn't mind him but feel we have other areas which need addressing.

Not seen Badu - from what I have heard, he is a fast, strong, physical player. Would rather we go for someone more established.

I reckon both of these targets are backup options ...

I won't pretend to know much about the majority of names bandied about on here, but I know a few of you do.
So, to those in the know, how many of these (realistic) suggestions would walk straight into our first team in the areas where they're needed? Because that is the important thing right now, - is there a viable, distinct improvement on Lucas, on Johnson (shouldn't be too hard as he's on a mare atm) or the CB's?
If not, we keep our dosh until such time as we can spend it wisely.

Danilo is amazing on Fifa. Alex Sandro has terrible stamina (on Fifa) so wouldn't be suited to our game.

What's the news (if any) on Salah? I'm really keen on us getting this player. Last time I was this keen on a player coming to LFC it was Heno -- and, as we all know, that never happened! <doh> Have a a feeling we'll miss out once again on a decent winger/second striker.

There's also a lot of rubbish in the rumour mill, currently. Inler, for example. Too old, surely. Don't particularly want Rakitic, either. Fernando would be a decent signing, IMO, though. Hopefully BR knows his business and we'll get the players we need, when we need them. <ok>

Latest rumour from the Daily's is that we only have a budget for Salah and there is no more cash available until Summer.

Would these be the same Dailies that "knew" there was a £40m escape clause in Gnasher's contract and various other "facts" obtained from a Random Lie Generator?
