Of course I'd rather we didn't concede three, but I watch football because I love the game, not for some tribal one-upmanship over my mates or some sort of personal pride over an achievement that I've made no contribution to.
Would I prefer a ground-out 1-0 victory to an entertaining defeat? Of course I would. But I'd still love an 8-goal thriller even more, as long as we won.
