I may have been a little harsh before, he certainly looked the real deal for Everton at first, but the last year or so he's been gash, missing some proper sitters and everything. With the miniscule amount of 'sitters' we create we can't afford to be missing them. I appreciate that we're only going to be able to get someone either well out of sorts or take a gamble on someone unproven without spending silly money, so it's up to Brucey to pick the right man and get him performing to his best, and I trust him to do that to be honest. I think Jelavic wants out at Everton to be playing regularly, he threw a tantrum on new years day, and Martinez' comments read to me as though he's happy to sell Jelavic just not letting on openly so they can hold out for a decent fee. My mate told me he's been getting frustrated at not scoring, and the more frustrated he gets, the harder he tries, the worse he gets on a steady decline. He said he's even started trying overhead kicks all the time kicking thin air and just starting to play really ****.
Another article on Jelavic. But what I want to know is what is all this we only have 5 million to spend on a striker nonsense? http://www.footballfancast.com/premiership/hull-turn-their-transfer-attentions-to-everton-ace?
We think the total budget for January is around £11M. We've got a couple of irons in the fire according to Bruce, so it's probably being worked on the basis that we're wanting to make Livermore permanent for £3.5M and sign AN Other player for our average random fee of around £2.5M. Not saying that is the plan, but it's what I think the thinking behind only having £5M for a striker would be.
Well it makes sense when you break it down. I knew that our budget was around 11m but I hadnt broken it down like you did.
From offical Facebook page: We have reached agreement with Everton over the transfer of Nikica Jelavic, and will now enter talks with the striker.
Great news. Not sure why the club are putting our transfer news all over the internet before its a done deal though?
Good stuff, hopefully it's smooth sailing from now on. Very strange that we are reporting it this early. I don't think there is much interest from any teams higher than us in the league, so it's looking good!
Millions of people die each day, from horrific illnesses like AIDS and cancer, and yet you live. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
"Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Big news coming out of #hcafc tonight. Fee agreed for Jelavic and a bid in for Shane Long. City want both." Wow, whether this is a smokescreen to push the long deal through, or we actually want both. Does that mean Livermore isn't signing? Hmmm, interesting news this.
I miss that game. One of the best games ever more. It's in a three horse race with goldeneye and golden axe.
