Craig has already indicated that wages wouldn't be a problem IF and it's a big IF a deal can be worked out with Cardiff, as he'd be prepared to be "flexible" as he wants to play for his hometown club.

If he was to go to another Premiership club, well he wants premiership wages. £4 million could be a good investment in Bellamy, for the interest he generates, the bums he puts on seats, and the galvanising effect he has on the whole club..............money well spent IMO, and Chops being sold might well have been done with Bellamy in mind <ok>

Xsnaggle, i hope your right about the Malaysians and the money but I dont think we will be seeing a lot of it. Bothroyd gone due to wage demands, Burke gone due to wage demands, Chopra gone (one of the highest earners), 3 of our top players... can you see a trend here. Also think about how much money the Malaysians have actually spent on transfer fees and we also seem hell bent on getting a manager in that has had to work with no money.

Hope I wrong about all this but I fear not.

Looking certain now. Fact is nobody knows if he's a good manager or not. Not even Newcastle fans. Most of what he did under us was unspectacular - no crazy decisions, but nothing that seemed like a tactical masterclass. He probably has good connections and definitely knows about young talented strikers. But as mentioned, you have almost no chance with Bellamy now

Ace, I hope you're opinion is just that but I also fear the Malaysians are stripping out the higher earners and will try to impose a sensible wage structure. Given the league has signed up to the fair wage initiative they may be starting earlier than other teams.
A for Shearer, there is something in it if the bookies have slashed the odds, I'm not sure Shearer is the answer but he'll be as good as his backroom staff.
Whoever takes over will they have to use the existing staff or bring in their own?

something tells me bothroyd would have wanted massive wages, i'm talking £20k plus a week minimum, not that he'd want to stay here anyway, he could get higher wages at sunderland for sitting on their bench.

although i was a bit annoyed at getting £1.5m for chopra, but lets be honest, he was average last season by his standards, and it gives the new manager room to manouvre in the transfer market, so it might turn out to be a good move by the board. i will however, be p*ssed off greatly if he goes on to score 20 + goals for ipswich though <ok>

as for bellamy, all logic would point to him not coming here. i doubt he would be interested in going to a lower level PL team (man city would block all moves to top 8 teams) , and apart from going abroad, which i cant see him doing, he's got 2 options - either sit on the bench at man city or come here on a massively reduced wage and play his heart out for his hometown team.

All the other boards are full of it.. Carl Curtis even said he got it wrong.

Nightmare

Nothing is sorted, nothing is finalised. The final candidates (plural) are being considered. I'll not mention any names speculated. Never do

Where in that does Shearer mention Cardiff? it's all old statements dressed up.

I'm still picking bits of my supper out of the carpet. . .

I'll support whoever is given the job but. . .

God, I hope this isn't true. . .
