only messing bluff lol. dont rate him, never have, rather Benayoun back ahead of him and that's getting desperate lol
Pjanic ( although this one seems strange as he plays almost every game??) Liverpool and Tottenham target Miralem Pjanic is expected to leave Roma before the transfer window closes. Both Premier League clubs have been heavily linked with the Bosnian playmaker but their chances of signing him could hinge on the strength of interest displayed by Paris Saint-Germain. Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has confirmed the Serie A club have received numerous enquiries about the midfielder. He told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport: ‘We have had many offers for Miralem, and not necessarily from PSG.’ Roma want at least £20million for the technically gifted player and that may represent real value if he shines for his country during the World Cup in Brazil. Spurs were heavily linked with Pjanic while buying Erik Lamela from the Giallorossi for a club-record £32m in the summer and if he moved to White Hart Lane it could help the Argentinian striker finally settle and become a first-team regular. Liverpool, meanwhile, are looking for quality to give their Champions League drive some added impetus. http://metro.co.uk/2014/01/06/spurs-and-liverpool-target-miralem-pjanic-in-psgs-sights-4251555/
No worries, just giving stats and letting people judge on what they want, eye test or what the sheet says. I still don't get why we haven't bought messi yet ffs.
"Roma want at least £20million for the technically gifted player" sounds like another Aquallani in the making there, no thanks. personally would rather we did **** all business in Italy.
I know you are wary of the Italian league, but Pjanic is boss. I really like him and he is technically super sound. Eye for a pass as well and he had this when he was at Lyon too.
* Please remember, these are internet rumours, gathered in one place for your convenience, not Liverpool Echo stories. Rumour One Salomon Kalou is eyeing a January return to the Premier League with Liverpool leading the pack. Former Chelsea forward Kalou, 28, is at Lille but has already had interest from Liverpool and Tottenham while Arsenal have been sounded out. Roma and Besiktas have also been on the Ivory Coast international but his preferred destination is England. Lille are likely to allow him to go for around £2.5million. Rumour Two Liverpool are closing in on the signature of MK Dons starlet Dele Alli. Anfield chief Brendan Rodgers made a personal check on the youngster during the League One side’s FA Cup draw at Wigan on Saturday. The England Under-17 midfielder is regarded as a “special” talent by Dons boss Karl Robinson, who admitted he has spoken to Rodgers about some of his prized assets. Robinson revealed: “I know Brendan quite well and we speak about different players all the time. “There may have been another reason why he was at the game today, but you’ve seen Dele and he’s special. Yeah, he did some silly things but he’s 17 years of age. He did bits of magic too. “You don’t see many 17-year-olds playing in an FA Cup third round against a very good Wigan side and not looking out of place." Rumour Three Suarez put pen to paper on a new four-and-a-half year deal before Christmas to become the highest-paid player in the club’s history on around £180,000-a-week plus bonuses. But the star striker demanded certain guarantees from Liverpool including the right to negotiate an exit if either Real Madrid or Barcelona come in for him at the end of the season. And new reports today suggest Suarez's advisers negotiated a deal for him to leave if Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League. They wanted an escape clause in his contract that Liverpool were content to agree on. Anfield chiefs were keen for it to be for £100m - but a compromise of £70m was reportedly agreed. Suarez spent all of last summer agitating for a move and has not given up on his dream of one day playing for one of Spain's top clubs. Rumour Four Liverpool have reportedly agreed a deal with FC Basel to sign highly rated Egyptian Mohamed Salah. The Reds have been locked in lengthy talks with the Swiss side but have now come to an agreement on a £9m deal, which would also include incremental additions that could see the cost of the 21 year old attacker amount of £12m. Salah has impressed at FC Basel over the past 18 months, helping the St. Jakob-Park side secure a domestic double last term and continuing to make an impact this term, scoring 20 goals in 78 appearances from out wide. Brendan Rodgers has been keen to strengthen this attacking options, perhaps in view of the poor form shown by summer signing Iago Aspas as well as the inability of loaned in Chelsea man Victor Moses to make an impact this season. Mohamed Salah has primarily been used as a winger at FC Basel but is also very effective when used in an orthodox striking role and his record of 17 goals in 26 appearances for the Egyptian national team is further proof of his potency in front of goal. Rumour Five Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina could possibly remain with the Azzurri once the season ends despite reports claiming otherwise. The 31-year-old is currently on a season-long loan with the Partenopei from Liverpool and was previously expected to be joining Barcelona at the end of the 2013-14 season, though the Serie A side may now be looking to keep him. According to Mundo Deportivo, Napoli are willing to pay the Reds’ asking price of around €6 million to permanently sign the Spanish international once the campaign ends, which might end up blocking his potential move to Barca. Rumour Six Derby County's chief executive Sam Rush has told suitors of Will Hughes that the 18-year-old playmaker will not be leaving Pride Park in January. The Rams have been flying under Steve McClaren with eight wins from their last 10 league games has lifted them to fourth in the Championship. A host of Premier League clubs were known to be interested in Hughes before he and his team mates started dazzling onlookers with their recent run. But Rush insist there is no desire from County to sell the England under 21 international in the current transfer window. Rush said: "Will is best placed in Derby. "There is a huge amount for him to achieve here and I don't feel commercially it is the right time for us to entertain any other discussions. "You look at a variety of factors when you make a decision. Is it right for the player? Has he already maximised his contribution to the club - is there any more he can do for us? And is he at the height of his potential in income you can generate? The answer to all three is 'no'." Rumour Seven Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler is in the running to take over at League Two strugglers Torquay United. The 38-year-old, who was last involved at Thai club Muangthong United as player-manager, is among the candidates to replace Alan Knill at Plainmoor. Fowler is yet to take charge of a club in England, but it is well known that the Liverpudlian has long been keen on taking steps into management in his own country. The former England international was on the shortlist to become the new manager of non-league side Macclesfield Town in May following the sacking of Steve King. Rumour Eight Bayer Leverkusen are eager to give coach Sami Hyypia a contract renewal with the former Liverpool player very much open to the idea. Hyypia is contracted at Leverkusen until 2015, having been promoted to the full-time role last summer. He has led Leverkusen to second in the Bundesliga so far and is poised to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League knockout round. Hyypia's desire to one day manage his former club Liverpool came to light amid his internship under England boss Roy Hodgson during the international break in October. And Leverkusen are looking to stave off that dream for a few more seasons, with director of sport Rudi Voller telling Bild: "We are very pleased with Hyypia and his coaching team and we'll talk soon [about renewals]." Hyypia himself is concentrating on catching Bayern Munich at the top, but is aware of how much Leverkusen want him to stay on. "If the club and Rudi want to talk to me, I'm open", Hyypia explained. "For me the important thing is to concentrate on my job. "I have learned that it is not good for a coach when he focuses on something other than his work. "I know that the club have taken a risk with my appointment as manager so I am pleased that it is going well."
Possibly, they say Zenit is looking at Salah too. Also, Sidney Sam from Leverkusen, who we have been linked with, has turned down a new contract deal. Wonder if there is anything to that with us.
Once my midfielders starting getting hurt/not selected it completely threw me off on the fantasy prem tip. At one point Oscar was scoring, Mirallas, Joe Cole, Ozil, Studge, Giroud. Now all crocked or just not playing that much.
I put him in the week before he came back from injury, then sold him last night #2014champinthemaking
I'd ****ing love it if some else nicks Salah. Bang average player, I don't get why people are excited about his potential arrival. He's barely set the Swiss league alight, Atleast Aspas came with a better record and still looks dog poo. Was looking at some of Salah's stats in the CL, dispossessed an average 4 times a game, caused avg 5 turnovers per game. Those are Piss poor readings. And the Youtube clips don't do him any favors either, atleast Assaidi looked ****ing class in some of those. He's got decent pace but no footballing brain, average passing and not a goalscorer either. Summer window was a big disappointment, I'd be fuming if we piss more money on average ****e. Sterling looks a better option at the moment than this guy. We are better off waiting till summer and look for players who'd really improve the side than looking at "potentials", we've got enough of those in our squad already. There'd be many good players available in the summer, and if we could get into CL, we could target some top players. I'd be happy with a DM and a RB this window, two positions that could really do with some improvement.
Joseph Musker ‏@Musker_LFC 1m Liverpool are interested in Fernando Reges and want to sign him, preferably on a pre-contract agreement, for a free transfer in the summer.
Something's wrong when our transfer targets are going from Costa/Willian/Mkh to Salah/Tello on loan, despite the fact that we are in a much better position than we were in summer. In summer we were a 7th placed club looking very likely to lose our best player. We are now in CL qualifying positions, having our best player in the form of his life and signing a new contract. This gives us more negotiating power for players yet it doesn't look like we're even going to try to use it.
