lol if you got jay ,you would be ****ing in each others faces ,some ****ing posters on here need to grow up ****ing prem club !! wait till the season starts for **** sake !!!!
If we get him I would be gutted, and would feel the club has taken a giant leap backwards! We don't need a route one egotistical twat like him, he is simply not good enough for our premier league side!
jag yes you are a prem club ,the season hasn't started yet ,your posters seem to think you been there from day one !!!
I think Jay wouldn't fit into our formation as well as Danny would, and playing one up front means I'd prefer Graham to Bothroyd based on goalscoring records. Also I've only heard bad things about Bothroyd's behaviour on the training ground, in the dressing room and when out and about. Danny Graham is someone I've only heard good things about. Simple choice really, but even if Graham wasn't here I'd not want Bothroyd as I feel he'd not be a benefit in the dressing room. We don't sign the best players, but we do build a good TEAM - Jay and a few Cardiff fans don't seem to understand that. I respect his position about being a Cardiff fan and that meaning he'd not want to move either though. He wins respect for that.
I have to say this Arguement is pointless. he aint comming to Swansea anyway. but a statement was made that he will score more goals this year than DG. is that like he scored more goals in the championship. he is a good player on his day. I dont think he is a team player and not sure he would fit in with us. Then there are some who think he would. Its all about opinions and mine is I dont want him and also so not in a million years will be be playing for us this season.
And what has Bothroyd done since his foolish mistakes in his youth? Hey, I'm not the one slating players here, I don't defend Bellamy's actions but I don't think it makes him a bad person. On the other hand, he is investing in charity work in Sierra Leone which doesn't make him a good person either, but shows there is more to him than an idiot.
Try looking at his performances in the Reading matches, the biggest games of your season. Enough said.
I said it from the start and I stand by it, we don't need Bothroyd or players like him. It's not for me to say whether he is a good or a bad person, but there's no denying he does cause a lot of upset and disturbs the peace. Add into it that he wouldn't fit into our style of player because we're not big fan of rolling around on the floor and diving at every given chance. I'd like to take a stab at your "you haven't had a better striker than him for three decades!"... Jason Scotland.
He wasn't terrible and the whole team was badly off form, silly to judge him on those games. At the end of the day a top manager like Fabio Capello thought he was good enough for an England cap. That says it all.
Same Scotland who scored on average of a goal every other game, and got the golden boot in the league, also cost us £25k and sold him for £2m, he is a proven goal scorer at this level, as proven by the above stats, how is Ipswich utilising him ? And as wigan are in the premier league it's safe to assume his age is not helping, though who can blame him for not trying at 32 years old!
Whats the matter little boy. Upset with your own board's discussions (found in the lower leagues section). Do me a favour, jog off. We wouldn't take/don't need Bothroyd, final, and I suggest you more than know it! Now please leave us alone as we want to talk about our upcoming games against Liverpool, Chelsea Man U, Arsenal.... oh the list goes on,and on. Who know's we might even stay up/win the thing (after...you have to be in it to win it!!) And you young sir, should be more concerned about your quest to sign some new players/manager/stay up in the highest division of the LOWER LEAGUES.
I'm glad we put the pointless "you haven't had a better striker" debate to an end. The facts speak for themselves. Jog on.
Scoring goals (half of them in L1) and selling for a lot of money does not make him better than Bothroyd. Bothroyd got capped by England and we could have sold him for more than £2m if we had decided to. I guess we'll see what Jay does wherever he ends up next season, but I still haven't heard a decent shout for a striker you've had in the last 30 years that is better than him.
I know you probably wouldn't want Bothroyd, but the subject is whether he would be good for you. Hey, I'm a realist...you were the better team last year, you deserve to be where you are and I'm kinda excited for you. I'm looking forward to seeing us have another go next season. Of course, what you are saying is highly pottle/kettle/black as you have spent the last decade looking up at us!
