Where do you bloody start with this team? I really don't have too many solutions like you guys as I don't watch county cricket.
There are loads of questions/flaws to come out of this series though:
1. Cook. We've already mentioned. Personally I don't think he'll ever become a top Captain but at the same time I don't see a replacement looming. We keep folding and he is not holding the players together. They are not fighting for him and he is not leading by example. Absolutely terrible.
2. Old guard like Prior and Anderson. Prior has done nothing for months and months but is still there. Is he the only one who can wickie? He is a huge part of the problem with out batting imo. Anderson has just fallen off a cliff. Looks like we can no longer rely on him.
3. KP. Well. Is KP. Just cannot be relied on.
4. Our back up bowlers like Bresnan and Finn just don't look up for it. Tredwell? Panesar really that good?
5. The loss of Trott is big for the team I think. Losing him would have been a real blow to the team.
6. Swann destroyed any remnants of a unified team by bottling it then shoving the boot in. Hero to very much zero.
7. We don't appear to have any game plan and literally are just playing it as it comes.
8. The guys could not handle the Aussie media, who although shameful, need to be catered before which again shows poor preparation.
9. Root has had like 2 good innings in 6 months but seems immune from criticism. He needs to be further down the order.
In essence our quality bowlers have been bailing out our poor batting performances for some time which was shown over the summer. However that attack has now gone with Swann giving up and Anderson well out of form and Broad still good, but inconsistant as ever. He is a match winner not work horse to hold the run rate down. We no longer have that platform around him.
And so, our bowlers are not performing and neither are our batters = loss.
All in all an absolute farce. They have given up.
