It's a fascinating fight at the bottom.I have just posted an update of all the odds and asessments on the Norwich board under Relegation Watch. My three are Cardiff,Fulham,West Ham.

Stoke have had an awful lot of luck so far.At least 3or4 points to the good due to bad refs decisions.WBA and Sunderland games if memory serves.

Anyone from the saints down have to work hard in the second half of the season to avoid the drop. nobody is safe so far this season..

Odds for Saints to get relegated are between 80/1 and 500/1. It's rather fair to say that they're unlikely candidates for the drop...even if our recent form (5 points in 8) were extended over the remainder of the year, the team would finish with 39 points and a substantially better goal differential than most of the teams at the bottom, so it would take a massive effort to even be in consideration.

Huge game for Fulham and West Ham today. Neither side can afford a gap to open up.

Would it be too much to wish for that Hammers go down? A month back, I said I wanted them to and now I am convinced they are just teasing me by slipping into the bottom three. There are worse teams than them, but I'd so love Fat Sam to take them down. Failing that, they sack him and someone else keeps them up playing decent football.

Hard to say as teams are beginning to get the odd points and it is very close. I never thought West Ham would be in the mix as they had a reasonable first season back. I was sure that 2 of the 3 promoted clubs would be relegated + another (possibly Fulham). The Hammers are looking bad this season.

Although it was verbal jousting last season with Trix I was quite serious about West Ham going down eventually. Teams that continually buy 'experienced' players eventually have a season where they don't click. This season both Fulham and West Ham are seeing this. QPR last year did it. Mark Hughes will eventually do the same. Palace will go the same way even if not this season.

Most teams coming up these days (Swansea, Cardiff, Saints, Hull) are buying younger players in the main and looking to the future.

With Bolton Same managed to get a few top notch old heads in Hierro, Campo, Djorkaeff, Okocha. When they went or retired they started their decline because he never managed to get old heads of the same quality.

So much as Trix tows the company spiel of ' a few years of BFS for stability, even he knows that if BFS stays they will go down as they stagnate rather than progress. West Ham are looking really bad now.

The Lambert bid is very telling to me. Yes Lambert is class. Yes Lambert is a mile better than Carroll, Maiga or Cole BUT the only chance he will only go there is for a big payday and £8m for a couple of years service + £50k plus a week is symptomatic of their problems under BFS. He should be looking for a similar option from home or abroad offering the same deal but for a much younger player.
