With some of the balls Cameron has been putting in recently, I'd be tempted to give him a go on the wing, but then we'd be in need of a right back, as Wilko doesn't seem to be in the picture anymore.

Without doubt Cameron for me has improved no end with Mark Hughes at the helm. My team tomorrow is as follows as I fear Shawcross will not make it.

    Begovic

    Cameron Wilson K.Jones Pieters

    Pennant Whelan N'Zonzi Adam

    Walters Crouch

Subs Sorro Wilko Muniesa Assaidi Palacios.

I've been thinking about a few variation and selection, and it's hard to build a whole 11 that I think would all benefit from it.
With either Jones or Crouch upfront, we need crosses coming in, and at the moment they're mainly coming from fullbacks, Walters hardly gets any decent ones in from the right, and Arnie or Assaidi are both looking to cut in and shoot. Arnautovic could play on the right, but like you I think he should be upfront (in a 4-4-2), leaving no one bar Pennant and Walters to play on the right, don't know if Assaidi could play there, I've only ever seen him on the left, but either way that still leaves us in need of a wide player.

Or we could play 4-3-3, where I would have Arnautovic as the striker, Assaidi on the left, and again I'm lacking someone on the right, because ideally I'd have someone left footed, out of our squad that's Charlie Adam and our LBs. Although right footed I think Arnie could play on the right, but I've got him playing striker, could have put Crouch there, but I think we need a striker who can create his own chances, where Crouch needs a good pass or cross to put him in space.

For the rest of midfield I'd have Ireland as an attacking mid, and N'Zonzi and Wilson behind him, and I like the idea of trying Muniesa there, as when fit Pieters, Huth and Shawcross are all definite starters, and how good Muniesa looks going forward, I think it would be a waste to play him at CB anyway. Plus I think it'd do N'Zonzi good to know there's another young talented player eyeing up his position.

So there are various different signings we could make depending on the direction MH wants to take. I'd like to see us sign someone left footed for the RW and a pacey striker.

    So then we could play

    Begovic
    Pieters - Huth - Shawcross - Cameron
    N'Zonzi
(New lefty) - Ireland - Arnie/Assaidi?/(maybe sign another RW?)
    (New striker) - Arnie/Crouch

    Or

    Same defence
N'Zonzi - Wilson (Or Muniesa in for either)
    Ireland
    Assaidi - (New lefty)/ Arnie
    Arnie/(New striker)

And I mentioned before, Cameron is putting in a lot of good crosses, so maybe he could play on the wing, but then we'd need a RB.

EDIT- Just seen this, could be interesting:

STOKE boss Mark Hughes could try to sign Stephen Ireland long-term in the January transfer window to free up space for another loan signing.

Stoke have currently used up their quota of two British-based loan signings by acquiring Ireland and Liverpool's Oussama Assaidi.

But turning the Ireland deal into a long-term switch would allow Stoke to make a loan move for the likes of Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha in January.
