Unbelievable that he is a brother of the now deceased Christopher Hitchins, who was a compassionate person fundamentally interested in the human being, and a campaigner against injustices everywhere. Peter Hitchins constantly convinces me that he is the complete opposite.

EDIT: I don't the particular logical point he thinks he starts from but whatever it is, it's twisted from the sane.

Christopher used to annoy me occasionally, but he was a hell of a lot smarter than his brother. I think I've read that they didn't get along and were basically estranged, which would make sense.

Yeah I don't blame him, but the way he treats the woman seems quite patronising. Either way, there's only so much you can say in reply to someone trying to convince you that first-hand victims and medical experts are all wrong and addiction isn't a thing.

That is the Peter Hitchins way of debate when he isn't getting his point accepted and being met by stout, valid rebuttal. First he questions someone's motifs, then he questions their capacity to argue a point. It's an intellectualised way of calling someone a thickie, instead of rational argument, and the ridiculous thing is that everyone else can see him being the prick, while he is accusing the other person.

And I don't blame Matt Perry either.

Yet he continues to be allowed time on forums like Newsnight. Paxman's answer to Katie Hopkins, I suppose.

I liked Russell Brand's debate with him because he actually pointed that out. Peter's strategy was to make out that he's the intellectual and Brand is just a clown, but Brand was a step ahead of him. You know Hitchens is eventually going to reduce the debate to that, so the idea is to beat him to the punch.

Tancredi Palmeri reporting on Twitter that Gennaro Gattuso's house has been searched by police with relation to match-fixing investagations. His ex-AC Milan team-mate Carlos Brocchi is linked similar investigations.

Back to important stuff...I've eaten my 18th chocolate from my advent calendar instead of my 17th. Now, should I eat my 17th chocolate today as well or save it till tomorrow.

    First world problems!

Double chocolate (like I had this morning because I forgot to eat yesterdays!) is the best! :)

Another quandary though, why does Advent Calendar chocolate taste better than normal chocolate? Is it cos you eat it in the morning?

I don't have an advent calendar this year. Poor from me, and even worse from the girlfriend for not providing. Especially as I bought her a Nail Polish advent calendar which she loves.

Lads, next Christmas buy your girls nail polish advent calendars. So many brownie points built up pre-christmas that it now doesn't matter if I mess up the present-buying.

Nail polish advent calendar sounds a brilliant idea...does it taste as good as chocolate?

Weird thing about Peter Hitchens is that he started out as a marxist in the 80s, but is now further right than UKIP.
