No more messing around. We need a top top manager now. People might say "why would they come to spurs?" , but the reality in football these days is that money talks.

Levy needs to pay whoever that manager is, whatever that manager wants. There must be the funds there, as once again, we've not made a net spend!!

My reasons for raising my eyebrows when Freund was appointed was due to the fact that his entire experience thus far had been the German U-15 team or something. Plus I had no reason to think that he had a proven working relationship with AVB. His only qualification seemed to be that he was a popular ex-player. And he was only popular cos he could fist-pump at the crowd a hell of a lot better than he could pass or control a football.

Lenny - Freund is a close friend of Sherwood, they met on coaching courses, and Sherwood has the ear of Levy as we all know. I would imagine that went some way to to getting him the job, and keeping it past this weekend. I think it is a little unusual that a headcoach doesn't pick his own No.2.

YV - Sherwood doesn't like Spurs apparently, just works for us. He's sneered at the club as a pundit. He's also made a few f/ups, I think a player failed to sign on a deadline day because of him, and he manged to wriggle out the Nexgen unregistered player mess. Bit of a snide from what I hear too, sets little traps with chinese whispers.

I suppose these are all character traits, the main thing is can he do his job, truth there is I don't know. All you can say is that he has been working the youngsters in his time here who in the main have done very well, there's some very bright prospects which he's obviously had a hand in.

He's got a couple of games now apparently, so now we'll all have the opportunity to see him and more importantly listen to him in a couple interviews.

There's also the illogical loans he's sanctioned that have done nothing for our youngsters: Mason to Lorient was a farce, Gomelt to Royal Antwerp Reserves isn't going to do anything for him, and Adam Smith spending several months on Derby's bench was a waste of his time.
