For those that have only really seen him with England here is a vid of how Madrid won the 06-07 league. This is against the Barca team that won the 2006 CL against Arsenal. This is a tactic that works very well in the prem, and if he can get us scoring whilst getting the defence back to being the water tight one it was earlier in the year then we could be on to something. Playing too high, not giving the wingers freedom and not creating enough are the current issues and I think he would certainly improve these aspects. We have never been in a position to take on such a qualified man, so even if he is not my cup of tea personality wise I certainly respect his achievements. (same for Benitez...when have we ever had league winning/CL winning managers being realistically touted for us?)
Don't see Capello wanting to manage in England again, had a tough time with that job, plus he's got the opportunity to manage in the World Cup again. Can see it being Laudrup, hope it's Pardew though.

International football is very different, so I think it would not be fair to judge him just on his time with England (who qualied very well with him tbf)

I distinctly remember him speaking English on Gazetta Football Italia a few times. I think he pretended he couldn't speak English to get out of as many media commitments as he could - which, frankly, doesn't reflect well on him at all.

I'm sure Mourinho and many others (bar Wenger) would say the same thing. Results are what matter 100% to Managers. Pretty football is a luxury for most.
There were an awful lot of Spurs fans saying that results were more important earlier this season when people pointed out your poor scoring record.
More worrying if this happens is that it means Baldini has Levy's ear...another DOF (who I had doubts over from day one) disaster is in full swing imo.
Not wumming but think he is too big a name. Capello is one of the most successful managers of the last couple of decades at club level and has managed some of the biggest clubs in the world. Cant see why he'd leave when he's about to manage at the World Cup to join you.

Thing is, though, that Spurs have shown massive intent on getting int he CL, and pushing for a league title win. You can see that from the fact that AVB has been sacked, despite his stats bearing up to the best of all the managers before him. Levy clearly thinks that we should be doing better, so I doubt that he'd be willing to trade at the same level as AVB, and will want to go for someone with a proven record, even if that means splashing out on the cash needed to get him in. All of that will be attractive to any manager, even those that our bitter rivals may think would look down on lowly Spurs.
I think most people would say you were right CO1YOH (catchy name) however I'm just responding to the bookies, and general chat. There is also the Baldini link which seems to be fuelling most of the rumours imo.
And they were at that point, while the squad "gelled". That was a fair excuse. Now we're almost halfway through the season though, and I'd have expected to see some signs of improvement.
