Well yes, but what I really mean is, they're OK coming on with say... about 20 minutes to go. That way the rest are less fresh and they have a bit more time. At this level though, neither are up to 90 minutes against a good side.

Which kind of piddles me off because I based my prediction on having a back 4 involving Fonte and Lovren in usual order.

Cant say we're really threatening to score with our depleted team, but then Newcastle haven't really been either. Just (another) costly error from Jos. Very frustrating to watch.

As he hardly played, but he has stepped it up this season anyway. I don't think anyone can deny now that Fonte was the best CB we had before Lovren came in.

Poor Jos. It's hardly his fault we haven't created anything up front.

Poorest performance I think I've seen from Lambert, just seems to be chipping it high into the air for Collocini to eat up whenever he has the ball.

You can see why we score so few goals these days.

Lambert is having a ****ing mare, play him upfront or don't play him at all. The CAM experiment has failed.

Osvaldo's link up looks decent with limited service. Lambert... less so.

Whatever the intent of this setup, it's not really working...too many passes in to static players with no support, too many long balls easily covered, and we're back to having no width again.

The upshot is that we're only down one. Think we need to bring Lallana on for Rickie and try to find a bit of cutting edge. He just isn't an attacking mid, and shouldn't be deployed as such.

A tad too much possession for possession's sake.

I want to see Ramirez and Lallana second half. I'm desperate to see some flair. Just a tiny bit. Please.

He was the best we had but he couldn't even get into the team? Interesting logic!

Yoshida was our best centre-half last season by a country mile. Using tomw's and your logic, he must be the best this season because he's hardly played.

Ramirez in tight spaces. Couldn't possibly go wrong.
