I deleted it because calling someone "think" and a "dumb ass" is insulting. I not bothered if you do it to a regular on here such as Tobes, but it shouldn't be done towards unfamiliar posters. Especially ones that have gone to such effort to create a match thread of this standard.

So we now have to limit an honest reaction from a board that has consistently ridiculed us, denied us the right to make contrary comment on their board and feel they have the right to call a thread OFFICIAL on a board that they don't regularly contribute to.

Well I reserve the right to say that I don't agree.

Last time we won at White Hart Lane was 0-2 in 07/08 season, Andriy Voronin scored.

Where is MFG with the laws of averages for this one!!!

Flanagan-----Toure----Agger----Johnson

--Coutinho---Henderson----Sterling----

I reckon this might be the lineup that kicks off
Bench
Jones - Sakho - Skrtel - Ibe - Alberto - Moses - Aspas

Bit light off the bench, but we'll have cover at every position - Sakho can come into DM to replace Allen or Lucas if needs be. Can't see BR going with a 3-5-2/3-4-3 given the penetration Walker and Townsend give down the wings - we won't want to give up all that space in behind. This way, Coutinho and Sterling can drift all around the front, and Henderson can make late runs in to make the extra man. Spurs' recent domestic victories have been against the two worst performing team sin the league - the Mackems and the Cottagers - and even their 'performance' against United - noteworthy any other season - is against a team in the bottom half in terms of form.

Should Liverpool decide to take the game to Spurs, it should be an entertaining encounter, but one that should be decided by goals scored, not by resilience of defence. I'm not predicting a score, but a two goal margin is quite easy to envisage.

A fair guess but I think Brendan will start Skrtel after praising his form recently. So maybe Skrtel and Sakho again? I'd probably also swap the position of Allen and Henderson as Tottenham have a lot of pace on the flanks so would rather have Henderson and Lucas' industry to help johnson and flanagan double up.

Thoughts? Hearing it may be closer to the truth:

Interesting. 3-5-2. We usually score more with that formation, but then we always concede more with it, too. It might have been a decent option when Tottenham were having issues scoring but, after their rout of Anzi, this may be a bad time to start the Kevin-Keegan-esque 'let's just score more that they do' shenanigans. Tough to call this match, really. :(

If ture, looks like we are loading up the CM's and banking on them not having much pace up front ( unless they go with Defoe) while stifling the wing play of Townsend and Lennon with lucas being able to cover along with a CB. The bibs in the pics were all over the place so couldn't get a grasp on it there.

The one thing I think we all agree on is COuntinho needs to be as close to Suarez as possible to provide him ammunition/get goals as well.

Yep, for sure. The last think we need is Suarez being isolated and marked out of the game. Have we played 3-5-2 without Sturridge this year?

No but this looks more like the 5-4-1 Kenny deployed in that first 3 months he had where is was I believe Meireles, Gerrard, Lucas, Maxi in behind Suarez. I think Kuyt would sometimes be in behind Suarez as well.

Yeah, I remember Kuyt, Maxi and Luis linking up really well in that system. BR definitely being brave with his set up. I hope it works out for us as this will be a real nail biter, I reckon.

You also saw the effect it had with maxi arriving late to finish or looking to get beyond the defenders. Think Coutinho could do even more damage in that role.

That's true. Providing we can get the ball through Spurs midfield. Hopefully, others can shine in Gerrard's absence. Our midfield usually ups its collective game when he's missing, anyway. I'm hoping this weekend's game is another example of that phenomenon. <ok>
