I'd like to see what Ilori has to offer but he should have been tried already, we shouldn't be throwing him in for a tough away fixture like this.

Kelly is a good shout but I think BR will persist with Flanagan in a back four. Middle trio of Lucas, Allen and Alberto with Moses, Sterling and Suarez up top. We'll lose too.

Think more effort needs to go into the matchday thread <ok>

Ilori played today for the U21's and his positional sense was awful, he got caught out for pretty much all three of their goals. But you can see the talent there, quick and good on the ball, but I honestly don't see him as a CB.

Spurs have the last of their UEFA Europa League Group Stage matches on Thursday at the Lane against Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala.

But as Spurs have already won the Group (five wins from the five games played so far), I'd not expect any of the players who will start against Liverpool on Sunday to feature in the game, although I'm sure a few will be on the bench.

Danny Rose may well start on Thursday, as he's been out injured since 19th September.

We've still got a few players sidelined with injuries, such as Vertonghen, Chiriches, Eriksen & Adebayor but hopefully one or two of them might be able to play on Sunday.

If not, I'd expect AVB to start the Liverpool match with...

Lloris

Walker Capoue Dawson Naughton

Sandro Paulinho

Lennon Dembele Chadli

Defoe

So? Is that supposed to strike fear into us or something?

Was he playing as CB?

Gerrard will be six weeks, that's a long time if this lot don't step up to the plate.

no wing backs thanks... pack the midfield and ask for ENERGY. If henderson is really out then play alberto even i don't care push the 3 on looking for a higher pressing game and a lot of energy.

What's the point of wingbacks when they can't deliver a decent ball and there's no one on the end of it anyway <ok>

indeed. I feel that we should COPY everton. after all i literally begged on this stie for 4-5-1 v arsenal at the time and there was everton giving it to arsenal with a high pressing game but also layers of defense.

How f'n hard...

4-5-1 for me, coutinho in the middle joining suarez and sterling on one wing if the awful moses aint up to it? if henderson is injured, if aspas isn't fit for RW.. fine stick in alberto. there's options to work on this week... but don't f'n stick in another cb cos we are simply asking for it.

i am f'n starving.

grumpy?

been here a week and tomorrow i try to fly home but its a ****storm of snow. likely to be 12 hours i nthe airport hoping tomorrow... AND this guy who's swanned in doesn't want chinese so i have to go out now and get some crap for dinner rather than put my feet up.

Grumpy.

If i was at home I'd have used my axe by now.

now... sandro and paulinho are decent.

If spurs play one up and its defoe? no what should we play 3 cbs.

Flanno v lennon... lennon can't cross much.

dembele... we need 5 in midfield as they will be strong centrally.
