So who is going to pay him 90-100k a week then? No-one. It doesn't mater what he is earning now, he could be earning 300k a week. Once he leaves City no-one is going to pay him anywhere near his current wage so he will expect a sizeable pay-cut i reckon.
That's a good point actually, teams like QPR might be willing to overpay for him. Suppose it depends on what level of football he wants to be playing vs how much cash he will earn in that scenario.
I'm not saying who will pay him, but whoever offers him the most he will go to. The list of teams richer than Everton is too long. My original point is he was playing for Everton to put himself in the shop window.
look anything could happen. Barry could sign for everotn, everton could pay him a fortune for them (100k per week) the tv money is such that maybe they will who knows.. yeah qpr or southampton or god knows who might step in and compete for him who knows. However I think still that the vast majority (as in only one person on earth thinks the opposite) are right that lukaku is not going to everotn permenantly. I would question though if mourinho's not made it very hard for him to return to chelsea? Perhaps he will go for another loan next year. who knows. He's hot property now. the spanish kid... back to barca. Everton have a historic opportunity though... they could build on this if it works out for them. Another reason to take our won historic opportunity.
While Everton is playing extremely well at the moment, I think Lukaku has a huge part to play in that... Remember how good WBA were last year? And now where are they? He is a huge difference maker, and I think that when (if, but very highly likely when) he leaves at the end of the season, Everton will be left with a lack of goals. They will still do well, but they won't be as high in the table, in my personal opinion. I would keep BR, but I never really cared for Martinez. He's a good manager, don't get me wrong. I just found him arrogant (just a vibe),and much prefer BR.
It's patently obvious that you can't stomach the fact that we're ****ing boss at present & Barry is a massive part of the reason why. Keep clutching at those bitter straws
I've not said the 'opposite' though have I? I've said it's unlikely but not impossible, I took issue with those saying that it wasn't even a possibility, so get your facts right.
Everton were very good yesterday very good game to watch Barkley was superb. Coleman at right back was also very good. Brave football from Martinez.
For the first 35-40 minutes we were fantastic. I never thought I'd see the day that an Everton side went to the Emirates & passed Arsenal off the pitch.
Got to say that is more than we did. Their midfield destroyed us at the Emirates. Was hoping you'd slip up on Wednesday with a tricky away trip to a middle-of-the-table team, but not a bit of it. Everton are the real deal, and will be fighting for a top four place at the end of the season imho (and didn't I say so in August, Tobes?). Whether we will after visiting Spurs, Chelsea and City without Studge and Gerrard is another question. Nonetheless, we're knocking the 'easy' teams over at home, which is something we haven't done for a few seasons. so game on and we'll see where we all stand in January. And I've got to agree with the general consensus that Barklay is mint - better than Rodwell was, or was ever going to be. A young Gerrard, to be sure.
You did in fairness mate. I thought we'd struggle this season, as it'd be one of transition, but fair play to Martinez for the way he's managed to change our style of play in the space of 6 months, whilst keeping the defensive quality that we had under Moyes. We're now very tough to beat, whilst playing some top notch football. Barkley has got the lot, but his decision making is still poor at times & he doesn't work hard enough when we haven't got the ball imo, so he needs plenty of work yet, before we can start comparing him to Gerrard. He's definitely got the ability though.
Without the goals from loan players Everton would have 9 fewer points and be sat just below Man Utd #worrying
Martinez has proved how he can nurture young talent, be brave enough to give them plenty of game time & get them playing some fantastic football. I'm sure that any top team wanting to loan their promising talent to a PL side, would look no further than Martinez's Everton for a suitable place to send them.... Anyway, if I was you I'd be #worrying that Brenda spends the Suarez cash wisely next summer & how you're going to replace the man who's carried you for the best part of decade...........
I said Everton would do well too, just not as well as you are doing. I said they would remain around seventh with a bit of a gap to eight and sixth.
It would be amazing if both Liverpool and Everton got into the CL next year. If Mourinho has a massive blow up or City don't get any more points away from home maybe it could happen.
City are the best side we've faced this season by a street & they'll sort their away from imo. Chelsea will grind out enough results under Maureen to make the grade, same as they always do. Arsenal are a shoo in barring a disaster for them, so that only leaves 1 place.
