Is he better then Stephan Carr? One of the premier leagues most underrated full backs from his time with us.

No use asking me about full backs Boss, I tipped Phil Ifil to be an England regular for many years.

On Carr, I do agree with YV, for the years he was with us, he was good but not so good that I would call him a great player. As YV says, he did well for us for a couple of seasons only really.

We all did after that Liverpool game. I still wonder whether it'd have been different if he was allowed to keep his place in the team. Lennon came in similarly but got more games to establish himself as Routledge was out for a couple of months, I think.

I'm not writing Moyes off but he's already done some questionable things. I query the following:

- he's changed all the backroom staff. You need people who know the club and players. Why not keep someone like Phelan or Meulensteen who had been at the club for years?
- he failed to bring in new players. He messed up the transfer window in style. Surely a club with the clout of Utd could have negotiated deals for some of the players targeted? Even the Fellaini deal was a cock up. He could have been bought for less in July. The team did need an injection of new blood - especially in midfield. If Ozil or Fabregas couldn't be signed, then Cabaye for £15m would have been a big improvement.
- he has changed the team too often. He doesn't know his best team or formation. It's as though he picks names out of a hat and plays them. SAF made changes, but he knew when to put out his best XI, when to rest players and when to make tactical changes.
- he is too cautious. Utd have a tradition of throwing caution to the wind to save games. He may lack of top class creative midfielder, but he has attacking players in RvP, Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, Valencia, Nani, Kagawa & Januzaj at his disposal. Where was the Alamo at the end of the Everton and Newcastle games? Can he motivate the players to give everything and pile forward to chase a game - because they are not doing it?
- he's not at Everton. Getting a draw away at Liverpool or Spurs might be a point gained for many. The expectation is that Utd will win every game in style - and should aim to do so. The team won at City, Chelsea and Liverpool last season. Playing sterile football and being happy with a draw has no place at Utd. It's not a mindset you can easily break out of either (see above re caution).

Can you really blame Moyes for the transfer cock up, as I thought most of that was due to your new chief executive? David Gill moving on made Moyes job even tougher.

Aside from the strange decisions and lack of conviction to make changes in games or throw caution, ferguson left a squad which needed the fergie factor to win the title, Moyes has basically walked into a job designed for failure and whatever mistakes he makes will be highlighted because it's Man Utd.

If Moyes can bring in his own players and turn you into the old Everton with fellani causing mayhem, it could be the start of a new era! :) ... No I get the concerns and Ferguson most likely selected him for his personality, being Scottish must have helped. Just Moyes has been set up to get sacked before someone else comes in as your saviour.

I always thought Carr only hand a couple of particularly good seasons with us, wasn't a huge fan.

He did have a couple of fantastic seasons with judas. Him and Judas had to do extra work defensively!

Throwaway game for the Goons.
Not winning was never a problem, as they know they will pick up an easy 3 pts in their next PL game.

great game that.

what a great side martinez has made at everton. if they stay injury free, then they're odds on top 4 for me, and i can see us and liverpool having to beat each other as well as chelsea to get 4th.

1. man city
2. arsenal
3. everton
4. chelsea
5. liverpool
6. spurs
7. southampton
8. man united

is where my money would go at the moment.

Great game to watch, Arsenal should really have won it but I'm happy with the draw. Everton losing might've benefited us more but it's pretty galling being 10 points behind the scum so the result suits me :)

You have money to throw away?

Liverpool and Everton will drop off the pace, both are overly reliant on Suarez and Lukaku respectively.

dunno about that yid. lukaku was pants today but they still looked quality. theyve got a very good side. suarez and coutinho aside, theyve got a much better side than liverpool.

Best result really, 2pts gained on both. Everton top4 at the end of the season? do they have the squad depth? not so sure.

In the other game today, a striker many wanted here after missing a good chunk of early season with injury, has just gone his 9th game without a goal and struggling a bit.

Martinezs Wigan started crap then finished strong. This could just be a reversal with Everton before their form drops.
