Yesterday's 3-0 win over Ayr was Rangers twentieth game on the trot without defeat . Pretty remarkable run of games that . Daly , Aird and Moshni (didn't I say) scored to extend the bears record breaking run that could continue for some considerable time .
2nd highest wage bill in Scotland... The teams in LG1 are no where near Rangers in budget... 1 bet McCullochs monthly wage equates to most teams in the divisions full staffing budget for same month.
You're correct of course Pud . Yet ! How many games have your team won on the trot against lower league opposition ?
Yeah, fair point... but it's not a like for like comparison. It took Rangers a awee while to get going and now yer teams used to playing at that level, it easier to hand out weekly pumpings... Outside of league business, smaller teams always raise their level for cup games... it's a one off, anything can happen. Top level players, usually in a changed team, take smalller teams lightly in a cup game and **** up...as the wee team are playing out their skins. This doesnt happen week in week out with Rangers, teass settle into a rythmn... being well paid and full time = weekly pumpings. If you think it's an amazing achievement for Rangesr to be pumping these teams week in week out then I dont (and wouldnt if it was Celtic).
But teams are raising their game when they play Rangers . Rangers just happen to have a bit more in the team to deal with it this season . I agreed with you that Rangers should be beating these teams week in week out . On paper they should anyway but games aren't played on paper as the Morton result recently showed . Do I think it's an amazing achievement to go twenty games without defeat ? Not quite . It still shows remarkable consistency no matter who the opposition happens to be . After all if one of the 16 top teams in Europe last season can't beat Morton with the biggest wage bill in Scotland then why would you think a league one side shouldn't be applauded for remaining undefeated for so long .
and if you can't see why, then I see no point in continuing to discuss with you as I won't convince you otherwise (and you won't convience me that Rangers beating part-timers or lowly paid league 1 (3rd tier of scottish football) players whilst having a Scottish Premiership standard team is an achievement).
